Wrestling
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
A-we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run-Jerry Reed
Now that you are singing the titular song from the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit starring Burt Reynolds and Jerry Reed, the Wrestling Team would like to take this time to congratulate our Senior that are going “East bound” to wrestle at the next level and spotlight our currently athletes as they continue to put in the work to improve.

Hank Benter earns the triple crown of wrestling and finishes 1st in Greco. So, if you are keeping track Hank in just this season has finished first in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco. Hank hasn’t found a style of wrestling that he can't dominate at yet!
The Hickman coaching staff would like to say a big THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK to our Seniors and we are excited to see Hickman Wrestling continue to grow as the dominate wrestling program in Columbia.

Adopt a Spot- campus clean up project
Hickman sports and activities are participating in a new project to show some love to Hickman! The Adopt a Spot program targets MSHAA sports and activities to take the lead on keeping our building grounds looking their best.
With this program, each sport and activity will oversee an area on the Hickman property to keep free of trash and maintained.
The Adopt a Spot program will give team’s recognition through signage in their designated area outside. Participating in this program will allow many opportunities for team and community building within each sport/activity. Clean ups can be done before or after practices or at other designated times. Parents and families can participate as well, allowing families to get to know one another and drawing more support together for our Kewpie family. During the off seasons, maintaining the assigned areas allow for that increased communication with your athletes/members and their families.
The Adopt a Spot program is the first in a series of actions HHS leadership and PTSA are undertaking to get the community of the school and the community at large to “show Hickman a little LOVE!” Our coaches and programs are an important step in this process. Hickman is a very historic building, and it deserves our love and care.
