From the Principal's Office
Greetings from the Principal's Office!
We are moving toward our state testing in grades 3, 4, 5, and we are looking forward to hosting all families this week to share details of our assessment plan!
Also, the weather is beginning to warm up (Not today. It's rainy today) here in San Francisco. We were able to offer each student a Nalgene (brand) water bottle so that they may stay hydrated. Students may use our filtered water stations to refill their bottles throughout the day. As a gentle reminder, please no juice, gatorade, or powder pour-ins.
Thank you, as always, for partnering with us to support and develop your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our main office at (415) 330-1540.
Warmly,
Principal Manning
Welcome to Mr. Dupree
Please join me in giving a warm welcome to our newest educator, Mr. Nitty Dupree!
Mr. Dupree comes to us with valuable experience as an educator, social worker, and creative! He will be teaching 3rd grade (Room 287) and ensuring that our scholars finish this year proud and strong.
You may read Mr. Dupree's intro here:
Greetings,
My name is Mr. Nitty Dupree (Mr. Dupree to all my students), and I am eager to finish off my first elementary school year with each 3rd Grader. I am a born and raised San Francisco Native, who has attended SFUSD from K-12th; and I loved it!
In addition, I am a HBCU Jackson State University Graduate with a Bachelors of Science, and currently attending Louisiana State University completing my Masters of Social Work.
My focus is to create a fun filled learning environment within the classroom and translate their learning skills through analyzing, understanding, and to research collaboratively.
Let's Go THIRD GRADE!
SBAC Family Dinner Meeting
If you have a student in grades 3, 4, 5, you are invited (and HIGHLY encouraged) to attend our SBAC Family Meeting on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
This meeting will help orient families to state testing for grades 3-5.
We will share the schedule with you so that families are aware of which days students will test, and what subjects will be tested.
Please plan to bring your student in grades 3, 4, 5, with you to this meeting, and dinner will be provided.
Robert Moses Kin Dance Workshop (5th grade only)
We are happy to partner with Robert Moses Kin, a San Francisco-based dance company, for a dance and movement workshop for our 5th grade students.
Dance classes will be held on Friday during students' regular VAPA (visual and performing arts) time at school.
Every 5th grader has received a media release form and permission slip. Please ensure that you have signed and returned the form so that students will be able to participate in the workshop.
You can check out a video about the dance company below!
Samoan Arts Workshop (From the office of the Assistant Principal)
Our Fagogo Arts & Culture Program is back for round 5:). We are currently taking sign ups for our FREE 7 week arts & workshop series. This year, we are excited to be able to return to in person learning. Supplies for all workshops will be provided (supply priority given to S.F.U.S.D. students).
We encourage folks to sign up quickly as spots are secured on a first come first served basis. Sign up at:

If you are not able to join us in person, you can join us live on our Facebook page: Samoan Solutions
This program is made possible through the generous support of: SFUSD Arts Department, SALLT - Pacific Islander Resource Hut, Fa'aSamoa Initiative and the NH & PI Matua Advisory Council."
Additionally, I would like to put together an assembly for Asian and Pacific Islander History Month in May. If any family member is interested in coming in to share with the students a song or dance they can perform, please call the school and ask to speak to me or email me at ariv@sfusd.edu.
