Principal News

November is a time for being thankful and grateful for all that you have. Serving as the principal of IA is a tremendous honor and I am truly grateful for the IA students, staff, and community. As an educator, I realize the power of the work that we do, and I am very proud of what we have accomplished as a school community.

The State of Arizona has recently released school letter grades. These grades have value but are not the only way to evaluate a school. Each day as I visit classrooms, work with students, support teachers, and talk with parents, the joy and happiness that I hear and see tells me that we are on the right track; and I could not be prouder. I learned last week that once again Innovation Academy has earned an “A”. I have been evaluating the state assessment data for several months and have determined areas for growth and improvement. Plans which were put in place at the start of the school year will allow us to improve student achievement and academic growth. I am pleased with our achievement but there is always room for improvement.

New Procedures - THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone for supporting as me made a tweak to our dismissal system. As a staff we feel that it is more organized and allows us to better monitor our students.

I do have one request: please use the crosswalk to cross Desert Fairways. Cutting straight across nearer the pick-up area is easier, however it is not safe and not something I believe we should model for our children.

IA PTO

Did you know the IA PTO meets on ZOOM? We have found that ZOOM PTO meetings are super family-friendly and much easier for parents to attend. We meet the 3rd Monday of each month. The next PTO meeting is September 18th. Meeting ID 767 850 5074 / Password: Scorpion
