Hey everyone, I’m Bella Flint and I’m so excited to be a senior here at Legacy! Like many of my classmates, this time of the year can be most stressful with all the different application processes, figuring out how many colleges to apply to, what scholarships we’ll receive, and so much more. So I’ll take this next moment to share with you all my motto for getting through these next couple of months; community college don’t be looking too bad right now.

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always been fascinated by cars and knew it would be an interesting field to pursue. That is why I have plans to get my Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and hopefully specialize in automotive engineering. As of now, Legacy’s Dual Enrollment through IVC has really set me up with experience dealing with college class environments all while receiving college credits. By the end of my senior year, I will have more than half the credits required to receive an Associate's degree. That is why I plan to go to IVC for a year to receive my Associate’s and then transfer to a university with a good engineering program. Plus, that means I have an extra year to savor my dad’s home cooking before experiencing a college meal plan. If I could see myself in 10 years, I would hope I’m putting my effort into something I genuinely enjoy doing. I also have aspirations to travel the world to experience so many different cultures and try new things. I am so uncertain about what the future holds but I’m very excited for what this next chapter will bring me. And hopefully, I’m still the girl who loves spending time with her family, supports her friends, plays guitar, and watches Gilmore Girls with her little sister.

Hello, my name is Alan Sanchez I am the youngest of three, I have a cat named Angelo, a dog named Oso and I am a senior at Legacy Magnet Academy. I enjoy robotics, fishing, golfing, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends. I am someone who is committed, open-minded, patient, and passionate about learning from others. After graduating as the first class of LMA I plan on going to a 4-year university somewhere in southern California. After college graduation, I hope to find a decent-paying job and hopefully, an affordable place to live in the Orange County area. Since about 8th grade, I’ve always wanted to go to UCI for its great engineering program, clubs, and beautiful campus. I’ve taken a tour of UCI and I feel a sense of belonging and a call to be a part of their community. I would like to major in electrical engineering and study there for 4 years to earn my bachelor's degree. Coming from a homeschooling background attending public school was a completely new experience for me and I wouldn’t have wanted to experience it at any other school. This school has taught me how to make long-lasting friendships and collaborate with people I rarely or never talk to. Because of Legacy’s project-based learning, I know how to work with others, be a leader, and effectively communicate with my peers. In addition, I’ve learned plenty of real-world applicable skills such as public speaking, source evaluation, how to research quality information, marketing techniques, video production skills, and so much more. As for my future, I feel confident that I am taking the right steps toward a successful career and I understand that life is nothing but ups and downs and that everything has a reason for happening whether I like it or not. I know that I am going to struggle at the beginning of my adulthood and that’s alright, I am grateful to have supportive friends and family and I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end. In 10 years I hope to see myself living in a place of my own, in some form of a relationship (though that currently seems impossible), and with a job that values innovation and helping others. I hope to find myself and the people I care about to be in good health and have successful careers.

Tickets are now on sale for Legacy Productions' first show in our beautiful new amphitheater. A Trip to the Moon by Tracy Wells is a look at the transformative and turbulent end of the 1960s. Legacy Magnet Academy's Red Cross chapter will be hosting Legacy's first blood drive in November. Their goal is 200 units of blood, so please sign up if you are interested in donating to help reach that goal and save a life. We are encouraging parents, juniors/seniors, teachers, and community members to donate and spread the word. You can sign up at bit.ly/RedCrossDonor1. We had an LMAzing Red Ribbon Week! Thank you for showing off your spirit day outfits and for RISING against drugs. Make sure to continue to keep LMA drug & tobacco free!

We had a three-legged race lunchtime activity today in honor of Red Ribbon Week! Make sure to keep an eye out every Friday for our lunchtime activities; we have some awesome ones planned!

Thank you to those who participated in our DINO-MITE Dino Dashed themed activity on Wednesday! We LOVED seeing the teamwork and determination of the teams. Remember to stomp up to the Dino Dash on November 5th!

Congratulations to Mr. Jones for being the teacher of the month for October! We are so fortunate to have such an inspiring, passionate, and dedicated teacher here at LMA. Make sure to tell him “congratulations” when you see him!

TIDEPool tutoring takes place every Tuesday during Point Break! Middle school students can head to the downstairs commons to seek help from our experienced high school tutors. Tutoring starts at 2:05 and ends at 2:55 - we can’t wait to see you at the TIDEPool!

Monday, October 30th is a class color spirit day! Remember to wear your Class Color to show your LMA spirit! The class with the most participation will be entered in a drawing for the opportunity to pie a teacher at Fall Festival.

On Halloween we will be having a costume contest at lunch! Make sure all costumes are school appropriate (no full face mask/weapons.) Come out with your friends to enter the contest or check out the spooktacular costumes!!

Need some not so spooky halloween themed weekend plans? Come to LMA this Sunday, October 29th from 3-5pm for a fun Trunk or Treating experience. Entry is free and all community members are welcome. Even though entry is free, we encourage you to bring money to support club fundraising and buy food. There will also be the delicious MoBites food truck along with some fun games and yummy candy!

Have leftover candy from Halloween? LMA Thespians is putting on a candy collection fundraiser from November 1st to the 3rd for the Treats for Troops organization. Bring your candy to your 3rd period class and the class that donates the most candy will receive a prize!
