Special Board Meeting 03/05/24

The Upper Moreland Township School District Board of Directors will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 6:30 PM in the Cafetorium at the Upper Moreland Intermediate School located at 3990 Orangemans Road, Hatboro, PA 19040.

The purpose of this meeting is to fill the vacant board seat, and other matters which may come before the Board. Selected applicants for the vacant board seat will be invited to present their credentials for consideration before the Board of School Directors at this meeting. The Board is expected to take action on a candidate following interviews on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. In the event of inclement weather on March 5th, the meeting will have a rain date of Thursday, March 7, 2024. The community will be notified when the agenda is available for review.

Due to the resignation of a School Board Member, the Board is seeking resumes from qualified residents who wish to serve on the Upper Moreland Township School Board for a term ending December 4, 2025.

The Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949 24PS3-322 defines eligible candidates as the following: “Any citizen of the Commonwealth having a good moral character, being 18 years of age or upwards and having been a resident of the district for at least one year prior to the date of his/her election or appointment shall be eligible to the office of School Director”.

Interested candidates must submit application materials no later than noon on
Thursday, February 29, 2024 to Ms. Carol Boyle, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, either by US mail or email. Application materials must include the following:

• Cover letter which includes the candidate’s answer to the following questions:
  Why are you interested in serving on the Upper Moreland Board of School Directors?
  What would you like to accomplish in a 2-year term?
