Wee Wuns Monthly Newsletter

Hello October! I am ready to welcome the excitement of fall and cooler temperatures. This month is full of lots of exciting events! Not only are we in full swing to prepare for Fall Festival and for the Pumpkin Patch to open but post season baseball is here too! If you know me, you know I love Astros baseball!

I can’t believe that the first month of school has already passed. The kids are all settled into their classrooms and routines! I look forward to greeting the preschool students in the morning during carline each morning. It is a highlight of my day!

I am so excited to see all the parents and grandparents helping with our Helping Hands PTO! They are buzzing with excitement getting ready for our upcoming Fall Festival! Don’t worry if you missed the meetings, there will be plenty of upcoming opportunities to get involved. Keep an eye for more communication!

Preschool 3's, 4's and Bridge Dads are invited to join their students at school for a special evening event from 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2nd (MWF and 5-day 4's) and Thursday, October 3rd (T/TH, T/TH/F, 5-day 3's and Bridge).

Our theme for the evening is SUPERHEROS! Students and dads are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero attire. Please report to your child's class when you arrive at 6:30.

We have some adult sized Wee Wuns school shirts available in the office $22 each. Please send cash or check and let us know what size(s) you need.

Wee Wuns PTO is excited to host the 33rd annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 26th from 9:00 am-1:00 pm!

The day will be filled with fun for the entire family including a petting zoo, games, bounce houses, DJ, food, a bake sale, shopping and a silent auction. Proceeds will be used for school improvements, to provide scholarships, staff training and to add funds to our playground. Thank you to all who have contributed to the class baskets! We will continue to collect class basket donations through October 4th.

2 Chicks Click will be taking individual Fall photos on Tuesday, 10/8 and Wednesday, 10/9.

Sibling pictures may be taken in the Fellowship Hall from 8:30-9 on either of these days. Siblings

do not need to attend Wee Wuns to take sibling pictures.

Below is the backdrop for Fall photos.

State Licensing requires all four-year-olds enrolled in a preschool program to be screened for vision and hearing. Screenings will be completed at Wee Wuns on 10/23 and 10/24. If you plan to have the screening completed elsewhere, we will need documentation for our files.

Back-to-school has been great, and we are finding our rhythm with chapel and Get with God! This month we will talk about God’s promises and plans He has for us.

October Bible Stories:

Abraham and God’s Promise, Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors, Moses and the Plagues, and Moses Parts the Red Sea

We will sing: Father Abraham, Pharoah Pharoah, Rain or Pour by Jana Alayra, and Plan for Me – Orange Kids Music

Our memory verse this month is “I will be with you.” Exdodus 3:12

Some things to do at home:

Count the stars in the night sky and talk about how God keeps his promises just like He did for Abraham.

Help your child make a colorful coat out of a coffee filter. Use washable bright markers to color the filter, then spray with a fine mist of water and watch the colors run together. Allow it to dry and you can cut arm holes and put it on a small doll.
