Who Made a Difference at the Bobcat Dash?
Our Bobcat Dash on Friday was such a big event for our school family. So many of you made a difference for it to be successful. We want to express our appreciation for all you did and all you will do for our school. 1. Our PTO Leadership and Volunteers--Elizabeth Williams and Amanda Winters planned and led the effort on behalf of our PTO. We appreciate our PTO Board (Emanuel Daniels, Celia Kerr, and Michelle Dawkins) for their continued support and help. Ashley Petit, Liz Lowery, Erica Smith, Kennedy Christopher, Stephanie Greer and Jennifer Rollins secured prizes and sponsorships and mascots. So many of you as parents came and set up, marked shirts, gave out water, and cleaned up after we finished. You gave your time, effort and energy to provide a great event for our kids at the end of Red Ribbon Week. 2. Our Parents--You came and cheered. You helped your child secure pledges. You became sponsors through your businesses and made contact with other sponsors. You encouraged your child and you ran and walked with him. You donated goods and your time. We could not do it without you. 3. Our Sponsors--We want to say a big "Thank You" to all who agreed to contribute as a sponsor for the Bobcat Dash. Bajo Cero also provided fruit bars for all our children and Rock Hill Coca Cola gave bottles of water, too. Our community is always supportive of our children. 4. Our Staff--We appreciate Dr. Beard and Mrs. Anderson (our PE teachers) for preparing our children to run, teaching them to dance, and explaining to them what to do. Our homeroom teachers got kids ready, marked laps, and focused on teaching and learning on a day with few breaks and lots of distractions. Our office staff kept everyone safe and secure and helped effectively manage a "not so normal" day. We appreciate our related arts and resource support teachers who looked for the gaps and immediately filled them. 5. Our Children--They ran hard, followed directions, and had tons of fun. They fell down, got up, and kept running. They have been and will be securing pledges and supporting the fundraiser. Their effort is a big part of the Bobcat Dash being successful. Friday was a great day and we are excited to see the fruit of so much labor. We look forward to making improvements in our school such as putting turf on our playground so our kids can have an even better place to play. We appreciate the effort of every member of our school family who cares for our kids and wants our school to be the best it can be.
Strength and Blessings,
Mr. Maness
P.S. We had a great time dressing up for Red Ribbon Week last week. We ask that you do not send your child in his/her Halloween costume on Tuesday.

Notes and Reminders
1. Collection of Pledges--Those are due by the end of the day on Friday, November 3 for students to be eligible for their prizes. Know that the Cherry Park Elementary PTO is a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible. A copy of the pledge envelope is on the tab below if you need another one. Money raised will be used for putting artificial turf on our big playground so children can play more when the weather is bad.
2. Toys for Happiness Signups--Parent Smart has had the pleasure of coordinating the application site for Toys for Happiness in Rock Hill for many years. They are happy to partner once again with WRHI and several agencies throughout York County to assist families who may struggle to provide holiday gifts for their children. The holiday assistance program serves families with children up to age 14.
They will be registering families at the Sylvia Circle Family Learning Center the first three Fridays in November: Nov. 3rd, 10th, and 17th. See flyers below for more information.
Please let Parent Smart know if you have any questions.
