MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL LAMBERT
Dear Parents,
Just two more days until students begin school on Monday! All of us at Castro are very excited to begin teaching your child. Please emphasize to your child that school is not closed; that the building is closed but their education with their teacher continues. Attendance is taken each morning and afternoon, and students receive a lesson participation grade every day.
It is very important that every family come to the Castro MUR on Friday, Aug. 14th between 12 and 4 p.m. to pick up each student's new Chromebook, workbooks, school supplies and login information.
Yes, every child is receiving a new Chromebook! This Chromebook is also a tablet with a stylus. When learning comes back to the school building in the future, the students will need to bring this Chromebook with them.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the Parent Coffee this evening: 4:00 p.m. for Kinder families and 5:00 p.m. for 1st - 5th grade.
Best Regards,
Theresa Lambert

School Photos
This year all schools will be postponing our annual student photos to ensure the health and safety of students and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Once conditions are safer and students can return to school, we will work with LifeTouch to reschedule student photos. Thank you for your understanding.

In the meantime, the regular summer meal distribution in front of Mistral is continuing until Friday, August 14.

Supply List and process
School Supplies- Suministros Escolares
During the first weeks of school, our school sites will prepare and distribute a district-standard general school supply kit to every student. The kit will include the following items (see below).
Other supplies that will be distributed to students are:
Chromebooks (if needed)
Instructional materials, such as Eureka Math workbooks (varies by grade level)
Other materials to be determined, such as art supplies
School sites will distribute these supply kits to parents. It is likely that not all supply shipments will come in at the same time. Therefore, parents may be asked to pick up supplies at several distribution dates, in order to ensure students have items soon after delivery. Thanks in advance for your patience with multiple dates.
School sites will communicate distribution plans, dates and health and safety expectations during pick up.
If parents have purchased items from an earlier published supply list, we appreciate and accept donations of these materials. School sites will determine collection dates and locations.
