First Week Highlights
We had a great first week of school here at Gilbertsville. Over the course of the week, your children had the opportunity to meet new students, learn our school routines, and review our Unity Expectations. I think it is safe to say everyone worked hard and is ready for some rest this weekend.
On Monday we kick of our first week of Unity Expectation focus weeks. We are starting with the letter U, use kind words and actions. Please talk with your child about how they can demonstrate Using Kind Words and Actions throughout the school. What does it look like during class, recess, lunch, and on the bus? Staff are going to be looking for opportunities to catch students in the act. Students who are caught will be awarded a U unity ticket that they can proudly display on our lobby window, put in the unity box for a prize, or save to shop at our monthly unity store.
Thank you for helping us reinforce expected behavior at GES. Your efforts will support our efforts in having the best school year ever.
Elementary Band Sign Ups!
Attention 4th and 5th grade parents! Elementary Band sign ups are happening now! Next week, the elementary band directors, Mrs. Mumie and Mr. Yoder, will visit each elementary building to share information about joining the band. During their presentation, all of the band instruments will be demonstrated, and all students will be invited to “Meet the Instrument Night.”
On Wednesday, September 6 at 6:30 PM in the Middle School East Cafeteria, we are proud to present “Meet the Instrument Night” in partnership with Zeswitz Music. This event is designed to give students the chance to try out different instruments on sterilized mouthpieces and learn more about the band program. Representatives from Zeswitz Music will share information about their rental programs and the Boyertown Music League will have a treat for students as well! If you are interested in hearing more about the band program, please fill out the interest form at this link: bit.ly/BASDElemBandInterest Final registration for the band program will take place during “Meet the Instrument Night.” We hope to see you all there!
Thanks and have a great day!
