50th Callahan Christmas Parade and Craft Fair
Did you catch the Nassau County School District's "We Have a Big Story to Tell" float at the 50th Callahan Christmas Parade and Craft Fair? Seeing all of our West Nassau community members out there was amazing!
Crystalizing Ornaments
Science students at Fernandina Beach Middle School reviewed a previous matter unit on mixtures by creating ornaments and crystallizing them in a solution. This fun and festive activity kept students engaged before Thanksgiving break and allowed them to review content creatively.
Mustache Fun
3rd-grade students in Mrs. Whicker's class at Emma Love Hardee finished reading the Sunshine Book “The Haunted Mustache” and completed their AR tests fully prepared with their own mustaches!
Edible Science Experiment
Mrs. Page’s 4th-grade class at Emma Love Hardee conducted their own edible science experiment! Students were identifying physical properties of matter by their color, texture, hardness, shape, odor, and taste! They used frosted crackers, pretzels, goldfish, and honey-roasted peanuts as some of the items examined in the experiment.
Read-A-Thon
Students at Wildlight Elementary earned golden tokens for being the top AR readers in their class. The tokens were then used to select a new book from the book vending machine. Each month, new students from each class will be chosen based on whether they are keeping up to date on their AR/Lexia goals. Funding for the book vending machine was raised during Wildlight's annual Read-A-Thon.
