Brown School Buzz
May 14, 2023
Dear Families,
It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of our 2022-23 school year. We have just 6 weeks left of our school year, and it will be jam-packed. We have a good amount of curricula and learning to experience, as well as a number of end of the year assessments to complete at every grade level. Additionally, there are field trips, a Fun Run, Field Day, special guests and so much more on the docket. Staying focused at this time of year is arguably more difficult than most other times of the year.
Additionally, my guess is that family schedules have also become more full as the weather warms and recitals, baseball, lacrosse, graduations, soccer, and more all take their place on the calendar. The full days at school and outside of school definitely take a toll on our students' sleep habits. This can make the morning routine at home and having stamina for learning much more challenging for our students.
Kindergarten-Poetry, Persuasive writing, Solid shapes, Plants and Animal
Grade 1-Poetry, Measurement and Geometry, Geography, Plants and Animals
Grade 2-Book Clubs, Poetry, Adding and Subtraction to 1000, Equal Groups (multiplication), Insects and Plants
Grade 3-Traditional Literature, Geometry, Marblehead Past and Present, Massachusetts history, Life Structures
I appreciate all you are doing to help children get the sleep they need so they can be ready to learn each day, and I thank you for your continued efforts to keep our student learning these next 6 weeks.
