Monday Memo (On a Tuesday) - May 30, 2023
Washburne Families,
We hope that everyone enjoyed the nice weather and had a safe holiday weekend. We have a number of activities packed into these last two weeks of school, and are excited to celebrate a great school year with our students. Friday, we were able to celebrate with our entire student body and around 100 parents and family members at our annual awards assembly. It was awesome to hear performances from our amazing Chorus, Band, and Orchestra students, as well as recognize the numerous talents of our students. Washburne student leadership shared the stage with Henry from Henry’s Heroes, this year’s student chosen charity that raises funding and awareness for epilepsy.
We are excited to host Field Day this Thursday, June 1st (please remind students to bring a water bottle and sunscreen, as it looks to be a warm day), and we want to thank our Kinetic Wellness staff and many parent volunteers in advance for your help in coordinating and running this day.
Also, please join us tonight, Tuesday, May 30th @ 7:30pm in the Little Theater for this year's Musical Theatre production, Seussical Jr. No advanced tickets are necessary, so come on out and support the talented cast and amazing Stagecraft crew in what is sure to be a great celebration of the end of the school year!
Take Care and Be Well,
Andrew Fenton & Ben Horwitz
Washburne Principal & Assistant Principal

Spring Musical - Seussical, Jr. on stage Tonight!
Come one, come all to the final Washburne drama performance of the year! The Stagecraft and Musical Theatre students are excited to present Seussical, Jr. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 7:30 pm in the Washburne Little Theatre. This show is the culmination of weeks of hard work and dedication from both the actors on stage to the crew who designed and constructed all of the sets, costumes, lights, sound effects, and props. This type of theatrical production offers students the opportunity to collaborate and communicate effectively with their peers, to solve problems creatively, and to develop resilience and self-confidence.
We can’t wait to celebrate the end of the year with this fun show! See you there!
