Principal's Message
Dear Memorial Families and Caregivers:
As we approach the halfway mark of the 2023-2024 school year, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has flown by! I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible support we have received during the first half of the school year. It has been an inspiring journey filled with collaboration, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to the growth and success of our students. Your involvement and dedication to our school community have made a significant impact, creating a positive and nurturing environment for everyone.
I am truly grateful for the strong sense of community that I have witnessed. Your active participation in school events, open communication, and genuine care for the well-being of our students have contributed to the positive atmosphere that defines Memorial. As we reflect on the achievements and memorable moments of the past months, I am excited about the possibilities that the new year holds for us. Together, we will continue to build on our successes, foster a love for learning, and create an environment where every student can thrive.
On behalf of the entire Memorial staff, I want to extend warm wishes to each and every one of you for the happiest of holidays, a peaceful and relaxing break, and a joyous season spent with family and friends. I look forward to the continued collaboration and growth in the coming year!
Students do not return to school until Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year.
Respectfully,
Troy

Things To Know
1. NO SCHOOL, WINTER BREAK BEGINS 12/25
Winter break begins 12/25; there will be no school for the week as well as on Monday, 1/1. School will resume on January 2nd.
2. THOUGHTS ON THE HOLIDAY SEASON:
Our expectations around the holiday season are colored by our own fond memories, smiles on holiday cards, and Hallmark movies.
In truth, however, the joys of the season are paired with significant stressors for both adults and children. However, if we can adjust our expectations, preview expectations and new events, maintain important parts of the typical routines, and pay attention to their physical needs (real food, fluids, physical activity, and calming activity) then we can make the most out of all the opportunities this time of year brings!
3. WINTER IS COMING
A quick reminder that the weather is getting chillier each day! We will go out to recess in most weather conditions unless it is dangerous. Please help your child(ren) remember to bring/wear their cold weather gear to school each day, including a hat and gloves. When the snow arrives, in addition to hats and gloves, students will be required to wear snow boots and snow pants in order to play on the playground or field.
4. Dates To Remember:
- Tuesday, January 2nd, Students return to school
- Monday, January 15, No School/Martin Luther King Day
- Wednesday, January 24: Early Release Day. Students dismissed at 12:40pm
5. SEEKING LUNCH MONITOR AT MEMORIAL: We are seeking one lunch monitor to support students in our lunchroom Monday through Friday. The position is 2.75 hours a day (11:00 - 1:45 pm). If you are interested or know someone that might be a good fit, please have them contact Pat Marra @ pmarra@natickps.org.
