Weekly Outcall @Lincoln
February 18, 2024
Presidents Day
As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, February 19th. Classes resume on Tuesday, February 20th.
IAR
As we approach the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), I would like to remind everyone of its significance in evaluating student progress and school performance. The IAR is a statewide assessment designed to measure student proficiency in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This year, the assessment will be administered on March 13th, 14th, and 15th, during which students will follow an alternate schedule. Please note that due to an 8th-grade field trip, the 8th-grade class will not be participating in the assessment on March 14th. Instead, they will complete a grade-level IAR session on March 18th. Attached here is the district notification letter providing further details.

The window to schedule your conferences will close Thursday February 29th 2024.
Student Celebrations & Outside Food
A friendly reminder that outside food cannot be brought in for our students to be shared amongst peers. Safety is our number one priority at Lincoln, food related allergies are very serious and we must take various precautions to ensure our students stay safe. We cannot allow outside food to be brought and shared with lunch tables, peer groups, classes, etc. If considering a treat for your child please coordinate outside of school hours. We thank you for your support and cooperation in this matter.
Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey
As a parent or guardian of one or more students attending Naperville Community Unit School District 203, your feedback is requested via participation in the annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The purpose of this online survey is to understand parent/guardian perceptions in the areas of connectedness, satisfaction, interaction, involvement, and quality.
Your participation and ratings on this survey are confidential; the district will only receive school-level results if at least 20% of parents/guardians participate. The results of this survey will be used to understand areas of strength and challenge at the district and school levels based on your input and feedback. Families with students attending more than one school are asked to complete the survey for each school individually.
To access the survey, please click here.
We ask that you complete this survey by March 29th. Thank you for your support!

Illinois Youth Survey - 8th Grade Students
The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) has funded the administration of the Illinois Youth Survey (IYS) biennially since 1990. The IYS is a self-report survey administered in school settings and is designed to gather information about a variety of health and social indicators including substance use and perceptions, bullying, school climate, nutrition, and physical activity.
The administration of the IYS has two major goals:
To supply local data to schools and school districts throughout Illinois. During state-funded survey years (e.g., 2018, 2020, etc.), the survey is available to all eligible public and private schools in the state at no cost. Each participating school is eligible to receive a report specific to their own students' responses. These local reports provide critical information to school administrators, prevention professionals, and community members as they work to address substance use issues in their communities.
To provide a scientific estimate of health and social indicators for the state of Illinois. The scientific estimate is based on a random sample representing the state population of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders in Illinois public schools.
Lincoln Junior High will be giving the Illinois Youth Survey on Friday March 22nd, if you would like to opt your child out from taking the survey please contact Asst. Principal Kristen Caprarola kcaprarola@naperville203.org or returned the form attached here.
