Social Emotional Strength: Confidence
Promote CONFIDENCE at home:
What do you think we should read tonight?
How do you feel we should plan our homework schedule this week?
How would you have handled that situation differently?
I need your help. How might we solve this problem?
Encourage your child to speak up when participating in a family conversation
nutrition
January has long been celebrated as Oatmeal Month. With the colder weather, many
people turn to the comforts of hot cereal for breakfast. Oatmeal is full of energy,
nutrients and fiber. The carbohydrates in oatmeal will fuel your child with enough energy
to learn those complicated fractions and the fiber in oatmeal is an added benefit. It can
be a help to managing blood sugar, lowering cholesterol and providing relief from
constipation in both parents and kids. Make your oatmeal delicious by adding fresh fruit
or dried fruit instead of adding sugar. Feel free to make your baked sweets and
smoothies with a little oatmeal.
