Attention Seniors, TRIO will be coming to WBHS only three more times this school year. Do you need help with completing the FAFSA, scholarships, college applications, career interests? You must schedule an appointment through your school counselor. TRIO will be here on February 8th, March 14th and April 18th from 12pm-2pm. AP/AICE Night will be held in the WBRHS Theatre on Tuesday, February 6th at 6pm.

This is a great opportunity for our WBRHS families to receive more information regarding the AP and AICE diploma options and industry certification classes.

Students and parents/guardians will also have the opportunity to speak with our current AP, AICE, and Industry Certification teachers regarding their class curriculum.

This is an important announcement regarding Edgenuity courses this school year. Students with a D or F in their core classes can retake the course and make up the credit in night school on Edgenuity via credit recovery.
The credit recovery lab will be open Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm -7:00pm throughout the school year. There will be transportation via activity bus .

All 9th and 10th grades will be taking the ELA Progress Monitoring assessment 2 will be taking place this week. Standard time students will be taking the exam on Wednesday, Jan 17 (even) or Thursday, Jan 18 (odd) based on their ELA class period. Students with accommodating will be taking their exam throughout the week. Students ask talk to their ELA teachers for more information. This Progress Monitoring assessment is very important. Scores may impact student course selection options and tutorial placements in preparation for PM3. Students need to bring their Chromebook fully charged to school everyday.

Huge congrats to Channing Li, Natalie Jacobson, Angie Stancampiano, and Katelyn Oechsle for representing West Boca in the 2024 Florida All-State Band up in Tampa last week. Way to go ladies!!!

This past Friday, January 12, our school's DECA Chapter student members participated in the District Competitions at the Keiser University Main Campus in West Palm Beach. I would like to share with you all the following results:

• Arianna Barrett took FIRST place in the Integrated Marketing Campaign Event
• Issac Edelman and Sara Padron took SEVENTH place in the Sports & Entertainment Marketing event
• Sabrina Macedo took SEVENTH place in the Start-Up Business Plan event

These students are eligible to compete in DECA States next month in Orlando. Top 8 are DECA States qualifiers.

Honorable mentions:

• Jessica Washburn and Sydney Elkin (9th Place) in Travel & Tourism Marketing
• Matthew Edelman (12th Place) in Entrepreneurship

In the last regular-season tournament of the year, the Debate Team really stood out! We had multiple members of our team bring home hardware across several competitive events, including Dylan Gaynor, Sydney Ali, Ryan Inozemcez, David Hain, Max Korotkiy, Dennis Crowley, and Gabby Zarubinsky! The two that really excelled were Ryan Aouad, who was the tournament CHAMPION in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and Myles Rafael, who was the Top Presiding Officer and tournament CHAMPION in Congressional Debate!

Now the team is gearing up for Districts and Regionals in order to make our way on to the State Championship and National Tournaments! Make sure you congratulate the kids on an awesome season so far and send them good luck and vibes going forward!

We are leaving with 16 who placed 1-2-3 and are eligible for States in April!
