Principal's Message
Greetings Springwater Students and Families,
Next week marks the end of the 6-week grading period. There is no school on Friday, March 11th for teachers to complete progress report grades. Progress grades will be posted in ParentVue/StudentVue the week of March 14th. We will send out a reminder once grades have posted.
Students did a great job using their time well this past Wednesday for ACCESS Wednesday. ACCESS Wednesdays occur on the 5th week of each grading period. The day provides students the opportunity to catch up, redo assignments and tests, and get additional help and support from teachers. Teachers do not assign any new assignments on these days. Additionally, student leadership creates 2 class periods of fun, engaging, social activities for students. These activities build community, help students get to know one another, and most importantly: give students a break from academics and an opportunity to relax and have some fun.
Speaking of fun, our first school dance in nearly 2 years was last Friday! It was a wonderful success: I am already hearing from students, "When is the next dance?!?!?" We are planning on having junior/senior prom in April. This will also be the first Springwater prom in nearly 2 years! More information to come regarding this exciting event!
Looking ahead, Mr. McBride's Earth & Space Science Gallery Walks are this Tuesday, March 8th. 9th and 10th grade students have been working diligently creating models that answer the question: "How can we, as geologists, best develop a model to show how land and ocean-floor features form?" On Tuesday Springwater students will present their projects to students from Hogan Cedars Elementary School. This is a wonderful partnership that had been put on hold the past 2 years due to COVID.
Spring break is the week of March 21 - 25; just 2 weeks away! I can't believe how the school year is flying by! As always, please reach out by email or phone if you have questions or concerns.
Take care and be safe,
Ryan Blaszak

March Spotlight Students
Telleah Schlosser
Grade: 9
Interests: Sewing, art, book writing, books in general (especially fantasy)
Favorite subject in school: Art for the artistics of it. You get different parts of it, like crochet, painting.
Favorite thing about STHS: Small school. Those with anxiety can actually speak out more and you can get to feel like you’re still at home.
Steven Colton
Grade: 10
Interests: Mainly drawing, but I also like writing, especially fiction.
Favorite subject in school: English. Ramsey is funny.
Favorite thing about STHS: The size. Coming from Barlow, it’s super huge and really crowded. It’s nice to have less people.
Juan Pablo Jimenez
Grade: 11
Interests: Soccer, video games (GTA, Terraria, Brawlhalla, Call of Duty), and I go to the gym a lot.
Favorite subject in school: PE, because we get to do activities. I don’t like to sit down and be on the computer all day.
Favorite thing about STHS: Access Wednesdays, because I can make up all my missing work and, between, there are activities, so it’s a good mix of both.
Every Day, Every Class! Attendance Matters
Every minute of learning is important to education and the staff at Springwater want to encourage every day school attendance. As a result, each week we will be celebrating the students who had perfect attendance with no tardies. Congratulations to the following students who had perfect attendance the week of February 21st-25th!
