Taking Flight
CSSE Principal's Newsletter - January 2024
Greetings!
Happy New Year, CSSE Families! A new year brings so many ideas, inspirations and aspirations to us all. We are looking forward to the second semester of this school year!
Tax Credit Updates
It is my understanding that communications from the Merits company and/OK PCTC regarding your status of your submissions were sent out right before Christmas. Some people have already received approvals, while others may be in the next review process. Schools have not received communication on the status of families. The state has not communicated much more about next steps, however, we do know that schools should expect to receive checks in mid-February for approved families for the spring semester amounts. Then, parents would sign those over to the schools. We will create a plan for families to who are owed a refund to either receive the said refund or to apply it to upcoming fees/tuition. Once we have more definitive information, we will communicate an organized approach to processing the tax credits.
In the meantime, since we have not received information on which families have received approvals, please consider completing this form to help us in preparation for the next steps.
Report Cards
Second quarter PK - 8th grade report cards will be issued on January 12th. Please make sure all balances are paid in order to receive your child’s report card, and family information is up to date in FACTS. PK3 & PK4 will receive hard copy report cards. All Kindergarten - 8th grade report cards will be sent via FACTS email.
Help Celebrate our CSSE Teacher of the Year & Teacher Assistant of the Year
Ms. Mary Kate Tener was selected as a finalist among two other teachers from all of the teachers nominated by each of the Archdiocesan Catholic schools! Mrs. Imelda Aleman was also selected as one of three finalists for Teacher Assistant of the Year! What an amazing honor we have as a CSSE community to be graced with the beautiful talents of each of these educators and to have them represent our school as finalists! Winners and finalists will be celebrated at the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma Saints and Scholars banquet next month.
To help celebrate these educators, your child(ren) and/or family can send in a one page 8.5 x 11 page with pictures and messages from your heart to each of these ladies (one page for each not together). We will be making a book for each one of them! We would love to fill it full of memories you have of these truly amazing teachers! Please turn in to the office by Wednesday, January 10th, 2024!

Let the Little Children Come
Our Capital Campaign is closing in on our goal! Our state of the art Early Childhood Center WILL break ground this Spring! Please consider making a pledge or donation! Wouldn’t it be amazing to have EVERY single CSSE Family show their financial support to help grow our Eagle’s Nest! If you have not yet made a pledge no matter how big or how small, please do so using Faith Direct.
Our Big Playground Upgrades
We have finalized our new playground equipment plans that will replace our larger structure that is currently desperately needing replaced! The St. Eugene Gala for the past two years has raised funds to improve our playground. We are finally reaching our goal to install new equipment!!! With the help of this year’s gala funds, we will be able to install our new equipment this summer and hopefully surpass our goal to begin our funds for the early childhood center playground!
Looking Forward
I am truly honored to be part of this wonderfully woven community. There are so many of you to thank for your support during my recovery, whether it was a meal, financial assistance, kind words, and I know all of you were praying - each and every one of you has been a great support. Our students have been so gracious with their genuine kindness and concern and that is a testament to the families. I am working hard in physical therapy and beginning walking with support! I could not have made this progress without each of you!
On behalf of the entire CSSE staff, we are elated to begin this second semester with great joy and hope as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. Together we are called to love and serve one another so that we may be the best version of ourselves walking as children of our God.
Faith Forward,
Molly Goldsworthy
