Mrs. Copeland is a calm and steady presence for students in our school and works well with all students. She is willing to serve wherever she can help. In our school, on a bus or any place in our district and community. Mrs. Copeland is a wonderful member of our team.
Mr. Copeland has created a stellar band program at PCHS. Communicating his vision often to the students, he takes great pride in ensuring that bandsmen are ready physically and mentally to perform at concerts, half-time shows, parades, etc. In addition to creating a learning environment where students are not afraid to take risks, Mr. Copeland evaluates students’ performance in the classroom as well as during performances and uses that data to guide individualized or whole-group instruction. He has a great rapport with students, parents, and community stakeholders and seeks opportunities to showcase the awesome talent that his students possess. Mr. Copeland collaborates well with his colleagues and is always willing to give a helping hand. He is a professional role model for our staff and PQ’s Awarding Winning Band Director. Hats Off to this PQ Champion, Mr. Evan Copeland!
Mrs. Meiggs is a real PQ Champion at PCHS! She is the face of Student Services ready to help our students, staff, and parents. She stops what she is doing to answer any questions or lend a helping hand. Mrs. Meiggs has the fun task of staying on top of attendance each day which can be a challenge. She also makes sure grades are entered and accurate in a timely manner throughout the school year. She does all of this and more with a friendly smile. Mrs. Meiggs makes PCHS a better place and she is a PQ Champion!

STEM East:
I had a conversation with George Bonner, the Director of the NC Renewable Ocean Energy Program. He shared a summer opportunity for students in our region that I wanted to pass along: engineering camps sponsored by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). These are awesome programs for high school students with hands-on engineering and exposure to opportunities in our military. Applications for this summer's camps are due 15 March. There is financial aid to cover partial or full cost of camps. Here is the link to information:https://www.same.org/camps/.
STEM/Engineering & Construction Camps
SAME has been supporting science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) events for over 30 years and conducting camps for almost 20 years.
