Volume 3 Issue 36
It's the final countdown. Only two weeks of school...unbelievable. We have lots going on and these next two weeks will undoubtedly fly by! Please bear with us as we will be sending lots of information your way. In order to stay up on the latest, please check out the calendar of events for upcoming dates for promotion, graduation, Senior BBQ, and more. Additionally, keep an eye on your Parent Square accounts as we will continue to send information this way as well. This week's background features a photo grid from Mrs. Desrosiers Chemistry class. They had their final lab before finals week. So fun!
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or compliments, please reach out to Mr. Fineberg, our principal, at efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.

Principal's Message...
This Friday, I had the honor of celebrating our 2021 and 2022 Teacher of the Year award winners. Thank you to Linda Ly for the beautiful centerpieces. What a wonderful night of celebration. As we head into the final two weeks of school, we have a packed schedule of finals, end of year celebrations, and transitions. The coming year will bring about some changes as well. We will be requiring our high school students to come in for assessments in order to be UC A-G and NCAA compliant. Across all grade levels, the expectation will be that students will attend in person weekly. If there is a medical concern or exception needed, please be sure to reach out to your teacher or Mr. Fineberg. The value of that in-person connection between students and staff has been key to the success of Tustin Connect in the past and our efforts to return to what we know works. Along those lines, we are working to come up with a potential schedule of days for when required classes will be offered K-8. We are looking forward to a fantastic 22/23 school year. Stay tuned for more to come.
As a requirement of all Alternative Education programs, we are required to have families complete a short survey to share their experience at Tustin Connect this year. The data will then be shared with the state. Please take a moment, seriously one minute to complete the 8 question multiple choice Survey. Use this link for the survey please.
As always, if you have any questions, compliments, ideas, and/or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out at (714) 430-2052 ext. 52103 or efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.
Mr. Fineberg

Promotion Picnic: We are excited to host a promotion picnic for families behind the classrooms on May 25th at 12:30 to celebrate our 5th grade class. Families are invited to join us on the field. We recommend bringing a blanket or chairs and an umbrella for shade, as well as lunch to enjoy after awards. During the event, students will get awards, their promotion certificate, and we will have a student speaker. After the awards you can eat with your family, and we will have games for the students to play together.

Middle School Information
7th Grade Families: We are looking for a few 7th grade families that would be able to help with clean-up for our 8th grade promotion. This would provide you an opportunity to see the 8th grade promotion ceremony and pay it forward so when your child graduates you would be able to enjoy the experience without worrying about cleaning up. It's really just about breaking down tables and decorations from 6:30-7:30 pm.
8th Grade Transition to High School: Our awesome interim counselor Mrs. Hsieh has scheduled a great workshop for our 8th graders to prepare for the changes involved when moving from middle school to high school. The support through the May 17th training will be full of great resources for our students.

High School Information
Senior BBQ: All seniors, this Thursday, May 19th we celebrate our Seniors with a BBQ, distribution of caps and gowns, and more. Seniors and anyone not returning to TUSD will have the chance to return their device as well. Please RSVP using this link.
