1st Grade - Mrs. Hower's Class

3rd Grade - Mrs. Poe's Class

Our 3rd grade students are learning about government. We are learning that there are 3 levels of government: local, state, and national/federal. Students have been interested to see what businesses, entities, and responsibilities fall under each level.

3rd Grade - Mrs. Stichter's Class

Before talking about the levels of government, students first shared what they know. As they listened to each other, they formulated government-related questions they would like to learn about.

Dear Bulldog Families,

Hamilton Southeastern Schools (HSE) are fortunate to have community partners for for 1st - 5th grades. Our 1st grade students travel to Ritchey Woods for the Nature First science-based, outdoor learning experience. Second grade students learn about life on a farm as they observe and interact with animals and plants at our Fishers AgriPark. Our 3rd graders learn about our local government with a City of Fishers municipality partnership. They are able to visit several government buildings and participate in simulations. History is "brought to life" for our 4th grade students as they take part in experiential learning at Conner Prairie. When our students transition to 5th grade in HSE, they take part in hands-on experiences at Hub and Spoke. We are fortunate to have these community partnerships, and they will serve as the foundation for the work that we are embarking on as a district as we further develop our high school career pathways. I will be sharing more about this work in the upcoming weeks and months.

Physical Education - Coach Couto

Hand-eye coordination is an important skill for our students to develop. This helps us with both academic, functional, and leisure activities. These 1st grade students had fun practicing this skill with scarves.

Cafeteria Staff Needed

Work when your kids are in school and be off when they are. Food service is looking for full and part-time employees to work a school-year schedule. Positions are available at various schools, including New Britton. Did you know that these position include a free lunch as well as the opportunity to interact with our Bulldog students?

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Students continued the Second Step Elementary digital program, a researched-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve children’s social-emotional skills. Second Step skills and concepts are designed to help children both in and out of school.

Fishers Youth Assistance Snack Program

Fishers Youth Assistance Program (FYAP) is offering a free weekend snack program for youth attending one of the Hamilton Southeastern Schools who qualify for the reduced lunch program or have increased need during this time. Snack attack will not start until the week after Labor Day.

Winter Programming – Registration Continues for Winter Basketball

Stay in the game with us this winter and register now for recreational boys and girls basketball (open to K-8). Play with peers across the HSE School District and sign up NOW at myathletics.com.
