We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! We wanted to share just a few reminders and updates as we move through the remaining weeks prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year. THANK YOU to all of the families who joined our SCB family for the 4th of July Parade. Special thanks to the families that donated supplies and helped decorate the float. We are the proud recipients of the Most Patriotic Float!

We are all very excited to welcome Father Eddie to our Borromeo family. After every Mass this Sunday (July 11) we will be hosting a small reception to welcome Fr. Eddie to our parish. Weather permitting, the reception will take place on the patio in front of church. We hope you can join us to welcome our new associate pastor!

Prior to the start of the actual school year we will again be offering our ZERO days camp Monday, August 9th - Thursday, August 12th. Families can register by printing out and filling out the form attached below. This form and payment can then be mailed and/or dropped out at the school office. PLEASE note that the original deadline of July 1st has been changed :-) We ask that all families submit registration paperwork and payment by July 23rd.

Families who preordered their school supply kits should have already received them or will be receiving them shortly. If you believe you placed an order but do not receive your supplies within the next week please let us know. All kits should have shipped directly to homes. For those purchasing supplies the link below lists all the necessary items needed for each grade level.

We continue to work towards filling a variety of open positions within our faculty and staff. At this time we would like to welcome the following individuals to our SCB family.

We are still excited for the growth and changes that await in the 2021-2022 school year. While planning for the physical growth of our campus we also look forward to continuing to grow in our faith. Please join us in celebrating our theme for the new school year, while also reflecting on and growing in a new Fruit of the Spirit each month of the school year. Our hope is to extend our celebration of these virtues into the homes of our families. While our summer hours do vary the MAIN OFFICE is open EVERY WEDNESDAY from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. If you need to call or stop in there will be someone available at this time. Hi All,

This is a friendly reminder that if you intend to volunteer in any capacity with the school, you will need to complete this program. This is includes: Parish Picnic, Fish Fry, Field Trips, Class parties, Coaching a team, working in the lunch room, helping out at recess, Scouts, etc. If you have already attended a class in the past all you need to do is complete the online classes. Your name should show up when you register (this validates that you took the class before). The online portion takes about 40 minutes total. You are able to stop and start if you need to.

If you are new to the school or never took the initial class, you will need to sign up for one of those as well (it will step you through the sign up)

If you already completed everything, there is no need to contact me. I do not have access to the completed/compliant list. I was just asked to re-share the information. This went out to everyone in the school.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis has developed a new system for safe environment compliance called Prevent and Protect STL. Everyone ministering to minors and vulnerable adults (clergy, employees and volunteers) in the Archdiocese are required to adhere to these guidelines.

In addition to attending a live Protecting God’s Children workshop, all clergy, volunteers, and employees will register for an updated background screening, view two new online training modules on abuse reporting and the Code of Ethical Conduct, and agree to the updated Code of Ethical Conduct.

INSTRUCTIONS:

You will be asked to complete one electronic module on Mandated Reporting in Missouri and another on our Code of Ethical Conduct. This process will take you just under an hour if you complete the registration and both trainings all at once. You are welcome to do it in sections if that would be helpful. If you do not complete the full process in one setting you will get reminder emails weekly about what is due until all items are completed.

Since you have previously attended a Protecting God’s Child workshop (or if you are currently at a workshop choose “PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED”), this will bypass the required registration for an upcoming workshop.

As you continue through the steps, your Location Category is “Parish and/or Parish School”.

Please complete the registration for a background screening.

A few quick updates / reminders:

* PE clothes will ONLY be needed in grades 5-8 next year.

* Girls in 5th grade will transition from jumpers to skirts.

* Boys in Middle School can transition from navy pants/shorts and maroon shirts to khaki pants/shorts and navy polos.

I have asked them to reopen it at this time and close it at the end of July to provide time to complete the orders prior to the start of the school year. Our Athletic Association also offers spirit wear at different times over the course of the school year. Their shop just closed but will reopen again at the start of the school year.

We are ALL excited for this year's FALL SPORTS season. Registration for soccer and volleyball is now closed.
