WES joins thousands of schools nationwide in Start with Hello Week to celebrate the amazing work of educators, students, and community members in building socially inclusive learning environments for all students in a fun and meaningful way. Staff and students will have discussions and activities during morning meetings or other times throughout the week to strengthen our classroom communities and school community as a whole. Please refer to the picture below for special spirit days throughout the week that match each day's theme.

As we move toward October, I want to give families a couple quick details about Halloween. We will be sending more detailed information in the weeks to come.

• We will celebrate Halloween with a parade and classroom parties on Tuesday, October 31st.
• Like previous years, the WES Halloween Parade will take place at 9:45am and the parties for grades K-5 will follow immediately after.
• 6th grade will have their party in the PM and teachers will be in touch with details.
• PM Kindergarten will have the parade and party in the afternoon. Mrs. Stahl will communicate to her parents about the times in a couple of weeks.
• Selecting the right costume is very exciting for our children and is a very important decision for some students to make. Please remember that costumes incorporating weapons and/or depicting violence are not appropriate to bring to school. Please be selective when helping your child choose a costume to bring to school. Your support is greatly appreciated!
  
• WES PTO will host Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 28th - 4:30pm-6:00pm

Attention 6th Graders! This year we would love to have Wrightstown Elementary students represented at the Bucks County Science Research Competition/Science Fair held at Delaware Valley University on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Young Writers USA encourages students in K-6th grade to write a mini Spooky Saga, and your child can enter this contest. There is nothing better than reading a thrilling story, one that grips you so tightly and puts your senses on alert simply through the power of words. Spooky Sagas is a fantastic way to get students writing in this way by using tension, suspense, and atmosphere. Mini sagas (a story told in up to 100 words) can be funny or creepy, scary or odd, but must be your students' own work. Click on the button below for more information.

For any student to be considered for free or reduced-price meals for the 2023-24 school year, an application must be completed to determine eligibility.

For your family's planning, please note the specific dates for PSSA testing:

• ELA: Wednesday April 24th, Thursday April 25th, and Friday, April 26th
• Math: Tuesday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 1st
• Science: Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd

To help families with their planning for the school year, the list of early dismissal days is provided below. On these days, students will be dismissed at 12:15pm and there will be no lunch so children should pack at healthy snack.

These are the early dismissal days for this school year:

• Monday, November 20th
• Tuesday, November 21st
• Thursday, January 25th
• Friday, March 8th
• Friday, June 11th (projected last day of school)

For $20, your child will receive a soft pretzel from Philadelphia Pretzel Factory every Friday morning October through May, excluding half days, for a snack.

Program starts Friday, October 6th. Sign-up on the Toolkit HERE by Monday, October 2nd.

Families can order Boo Buckets for their children. Students from Council Rock South will be hanging "You've Been Booed" signs and dropping off Boo Buckets to participating families. There is a QR code link to the sign up form or you can find it HERE.
