Rhonda Williamson
Colleges: State University of NY at Albany (SUNYA); Illinois State University, BS in Elementary Education with a resource in Math; graduate work at: Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA; Ball State University, Muncie, IN
Teaching History: My teaching career began teaching junior high math in Mt. Zion, IL. After moving to Massachusetts I taught fifth grade in an all-inclusive classroom for seven years. We then moved to Indiana where I worked as an instructional assistant in first grade, then taught third and fourth grades. Now I am excited to be teaching here at Trivium with a wonderful team of teachers.
Family: My husband and I have been married for 37 years as of November 6th. We have three children, two son-in-laws, and six grandsons - that’s right - all boys! :)
We also have a 14-year old Cocker Spaniel named Mali. My father-in-law has come to live with us fairly recently.
Interests/Hobbies: I love to exercise, which I do by walking my dog and doing yoga. I also love to cook and I am constantly trying new recipes. We enjoy taking day trips around Texas on Saturdays.

Family: My family and I live in Carrollton. My husband Travis works in media production. I have two sons: Arturo who is 4 and Samuel who is a third grader here at Trivium. We also have two very old rescue dogs that we love very much, Penny and Bubu.
Interests/Hobbies Outside of School: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love traveling, going to museums, watching movies, listening to podcasts and being outdoor. I also love drawing, reading and writing.

Global Read Aloud 2019
This year Trivium is excited to be participating for the first time in The Global Read Aloud Project! It started in 2010 with the idea of using one book to connect kids to different countries and cultures around the world. This year it has grown to more than 86 different countries. Teachers choose one or more of the preselected books to share with their class during a set 6-week period. Each educator also makes as many global connections as they want with other educators reading the same book(s), deciding how much time they can dedicate and how involved they will be. It might be just one class, or it might be several. The scope and depth of the project are up to individual educators. Trivium is delighted to have 19 teachers, representing every grade level, participating in this project. Mrs. Johnson’s kindergarten class was the first to face-time with another kindergarten class in Indiana! They discussed their book and shared a project both classes completed. The kids loved it! Other classes will be sharing face-time connections and post cards with classrooms across the United States, Canada and the world! We would like to thank our incredibly generous and supportive parents who bought the books for us to make this program a reality! Stay tuned for more news and pictures of our connections and activities!
