LPS Tiger Talk
November 3, 2023
Principal's Message
Dear LPS Families,
We had an exciting week at LPS! Our Character Costume Parade and fall party celebrations were amazing and so much fun for our Tigers! Thank you to all of the families who were able to stop by and cheer on our students for the parade. Also, many thanks to our parent volunteers who helped make the fall parties fun, exciting, and memorable for our children. The fall party day is definitely a fan favorite and we are grateful for the support our families provide.
As we move into next week here at LPS, we are looking forward to spending time meeting with families and talking about the progress our students are making. If you haven't signed up for a conference time, please reach out directly to your child's teacher so one can be scheduled. Please note that students will not have school on both Tuesday (conference day) and Friday (Veterans Day) this coming week.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and we will see our Tigers on Monday.
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher

Gifted Testing
The state of Ohio requires that school districts provide an identification procedure for gifted/talented students. However, per the Ohio Department of Education, school districts are not required to serve. Click HERE to learn more about how Loveland serves gifted students. Loveland offers full grade testing in second and fourth grades. If students/parents/teachers wish to refer a student for gifted testing outside of the full-grade testing options, referral forms are available from the school office. The referral testing options will take place during November and February. If you would like to refer your child for fall testing, the form is due to the LPS school counselor no later than November 9, 2023. If you have any questions, please contact Darcie Chandler (School Counselor) at chandlda@lovelandschools.org.
Picture Retake Day Is Coming Soon!
Picture Retake Day is on Tuesday, 11/14. Pre-order on mylifetouch.com with your Student ID or Picture Day ID: EVTXVQ2V7.
Growing With The Loveland Learning Garden
How do those big pumpkins that we have so much fun carving into Jack-O-Lanterns on Halloween actually grow? Digging into the mystery of the pumpkin life cycle, students got a close up look at a germinating pumpkin seed started in a wet paper towel, a plant sprout with the seed still hanging on and worked together to put pictures of growth in order. Save the seeds from your pumpkin and try growing your own next year!
Nonprofit Loveland Learning Garden supports the teachers and students of our area by maintaining a garden and hiking trail on school grounds as spaces to get kids connected to nature. Kindness Club & Pass-It-On Food Drive
The LPS Kindness Club is working with the LEPTA this month to spread the word about the Pass-It-On Food Drive for L.I.F.E. Food Pantry. LCSD is in its 22nd year of partnering with the L.I.F.E. Food Pantry to fill Thanksgiving & Christmas baskets for at least 300 families right here in our own school district. This year’s drive will run Tuesday November 1st through Wednesday November 16th. Students can bring in their classrooms' designated donation item any time during these days. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Our efforts will help make wonderful holiday meals for some of our neighbors.
If you are interested in volunteering for the food drive or have any questions, please reach out to Ashley Nellis and/or Penny Dippold at: passitonfooddrive@gmail.com
