Wednesday Message, 6/5
Mr. Chisholm, Principal
Good evening, Stonehurst:
As we begin to close out our school year--we only have 4 days left-- I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support. We understand how your children are the most important people in each of your worlds and we want to thank you for allowing us to spend every school day with them. Our staff understands how important it is to care deeply for every child that walks through our doors and we take that responsibility seriously. We hope we can finish our school year strong. Please make sure that your child attends up to the last day of school on Tuesday, June 11th. The students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm on the last day of school.
I am looking forward to meeting all of our 5th-grade parents during our move-up ceremony on Monday, June 10th. We are excited to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our fifth graders and their families.
Please read thoroughly through the reminders below as they are each very important.
Sincerely,
Mr. Chisholm
Stonehurst Montly
Attendance
Student Attendance - Absent Notes
Absence notes are required when your child is absent within 2 days of your child's return. Unexcused absences become truancies. Please send absent notes by email to shes-attendance@upperdarbysd.org or you can send a written note to your child's teacher. Thank you!
ATTENDANCE and BEING ON TIME FOR SCHOOL IS IMPORTANT
Too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.
Students can still fall behind if they miss just 1 or 2 days every few weeks.
Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
Absences & tardiness affect the entire classroom.
Attending school regularly, and being on time each day helps children feel better about school—and themselves.
Early Dismissal: June 7, 2024 @ 12:15pm
Chromebooks: All chromebooks will be returned by all students. Please make sure that your child returns their chromebooks for the summer so that they can be updated.
Please return all Library Books! If your book has been lost or irreparably damaged, it must be paid for. Please contact mweil@upperdarbysd.org if you have any questions or concerns.
5th-Grade Move-up Day: June 10, 2024, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Last day of school: Tuesday, June 11th is the last day of school. Students will be dismissed early. The dismissal time is 12:15pm for the students.
Vaccine Clinic: Please see the attached flyer for more information.
2nd Grade Parents: All students need a dental exam in 3rd grade. I encourage you to have this done over the summer and turn in paperwork on the first day of school. If you need any assistance finding a dentist in the area, please reach out to me at CStetler@upperdarbysd.org.
5th Grade Parents: A reminder that all students need a physical exam in 6th grade. For anyone who has turned one in, thank you! For anyone who has not, I encourage you to make an appointment over the summer and turn it into the Middle School Nurse on the first day of school. If you need help finding a doctor, please reach out to me at CStetler@upperdarbysd.org.
