Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!
Bulldogs on the Move!
Our Bulldogs were on the move yesterday afternoon as they participated in the first Character Pack of the year! We have twenty-six packs, A-Z, led by classroom and specials teachers. Every student in the school is assigned to a pack, comprised of about fourteen total students spanning all six grade levels. Students stay in their packs for the entirety of their time here at Belmont to build another caring relationship with an adult and friendships across the building. Our 4th and 5th graders are so excited to serve as guides for the Kindergarten and 1st graders in their packs. They really help to make the magic work within about a forty minute timeframe.
Once in their packs, students participate in a short opening chat, engage with a story chosen to teach a particular social skill for character development, and then usually complete a short activity that gets turned into a full-school bulletin board in the main hall to help remind us of our time together.
Today, we kicked off our year with The Hard Hat for Kids by Jon Gordon and Lauren Gallagher. We were lucky enough to be able to watch Ms. Gallagher read the story to us just the way it was intended to be read! If you'd like to check it out, click here! After that, we each decided if we wanted to accept our invitation to be on the Belmont Bulldog team roster. Signing our names means that we're ready to be the best teammate we can be. Belmont Bulldogs WORK HARD to do the best you can each day, put in EFFORT to help others, BELIEVE in yourself, ENCOURAGE teammates, be a FRIEND, have OPTIMISM for a positive future, RESPECT teammates for who they are, fuel yourself and your team with positive ENERGY, MOTIVATE teammates, and share your ENTHUSIASM! That all adds up to learning the WE before ME strategy to build and maintain a successful and positive school team. Finally, each pack picked a positive affirmation to display around the school on our new character pack banners. You can check them out when you're here next week for conferences and the book fair!
Until out next pack, we're WORKING HARD to do our best each day, and putting in EFFORT to help our teammates, too! I'm so proud of our students and staff! Together, we're lighting up our learning community!

Now Accepting Reservations for BE Family Luncheon Seating
Lunch at school is considered a special privilege. Please, reserve this opportunity for special occasions or once in a while treats. We have many families and only so many spots! We appreciate your willingness to share the love (and the table!)
A few things to keep in mind:
- Lunch periods are 27 minutes long and we have to stay on schedule. Be here a few minutes early to get signed in. Your child gets REALLY stressed out when they don't see you as they walk down the hall when they know that you are supposed to be there.
- Parents may be joined at their reserved seats by their child only. It can create negative competition with hurt feelings when we allow others to join.
- Parents may bring in outside food for their dining party only. We have several students with food allergies or intolerances, and the students know that for safety reasons we do not share or trade food. Food and/or drink must be consumed during the lunch period and not sent back to class with the student.
- Confidentiality is important to us, so kindly refrain from sharing stories later if you happen to notice that another child is having behavioral or learning challenges. We've got people for that! Feel absolutely free to seek assistance from our on-duty staff if you notice that someone needs help!
How do I sign up? Click this link to let us know when you are coming! Closer to your date, please call the office to reserve a school lunch if you're not bringing your own. The cost of an adult lunch is $4.35, which needs to be paid (with exact change, please) on the date you will eat with us.
If you like LOTS of happy noise all at once and don't mind the possibility of wearing syrup and ketchup on your body when you leave...feel free to join us!
