@HSD Health Brief
May 3, 2021
Updated Quarantine Guidelines
The Southwest Region, along with the entire state of NJ, is currently in the yellow/moderate COVID activity level. As a result, HSD will immediately begin to follow the quarantine timeframes below for students and staff identified as close contacts with COVID+ individuals:
10 days without testing
or
7 days with negative test* results collected at 5-7 days following the close contact.
*While a molecular test is preferred, we will also accept rapid antigen tests that are analyzed by a lab. We will not accept self-administrated COVID test results.
Acceptable proof of a negative test can be a screenshot of the test result and must include the student's name, date of birth, test type, provider, and collection date. This information must be provided and verified by the school nurse.
This is effective immediately for all students currently in quarantine/school exclusion.
Please Put the Community First!
We know this is challenging and difficult, but, please consider others when making decisions and doing your part to keep yourself and others healthy and safe. One of the contributors to our rise in COVID+ students at HMHS was traced by the CCDOH to a large student gathering in a private residence.
