Level Up with PRIDE - Week #1 🎮
Greetings, STEAM Family!
We're off to a SUPER-FANTASTIC start at SDE and so excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever! We will continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and build relationships. As the Instructional Leader of this professional learning community, my top priorities include increasing student achievement through improving teacher quality and effectiveness in the classroom and increasing family engagement that promotes clear support of the instructional program at SDE.
It is also important to me that everyone who steps through our doors is excited to be here and immediately feels a sense of family and PRIDE! Such an attitude will enable us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. With this being said, our school wide theme for the 2023-2024 school year is “LEVEL UP with PRIDE!” This means that our students and staff will “LEVEL UP” in our expectations, academic achievement, and in our showing of P.R.I.D.E. everyday and everywhere. Our goal is simple - work harder to get better everyday! So, SDE families and stakeholders, we challenge you to join us and get your GAME ON because we’ll be learning and dropping knowledge daily at SDE. Get ready! Get ready! Get ready!

This Week at SDE:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!
- Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
- The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
