Happy Homecoming Week! Our students and staff have truly embodied the essence of school spirit throughout the week, from our spirited pep assembly to the fun-filled dress-up days and all the exciting school events in between. We've just wrapped up an exhilarating parade through downtown Manitou, and our enthusiasm is building for tonight's football game and tomorrow's dance.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the numerous staff members and students who dedicated their considerable time and effort to make this week's festivities a resounding success. Special recognition goes to Cameron Jones, our Athletic & Activities Director, as well as our StuCo sponsors, Liz Tindall and Ingrid Perez, and our committed fall coaches. Your contributions are deeply appreciated.

Mr. William's participated in a triathlon this past Saturday and set a new PR for himself! He competed in the Harvest Moon Triathlon and his finishing time was 06:39:54. He represented his Mustang spirit after the race!

Counselors are concluding Senior Advisory lessons surrounding the college application process this week. Office hours to help students navigate Naviance will be 9/21 in the media center with Mrs. Trainor. Seniors will also be called in for 1:1 meetings to answer questions regarding post-secondary options. A reminder that if you need assistance or have any questions please reach out to your students counselor via email or phone. As we dove into Homecoming Week and all the planning that comes with it, StuCo members decorated the hallways with different scenes that related to our theme of this year “Let Me Take You To Río”. They worked hard on decorations and they were really creative. We are closing the spirit week with our Homecoming Dance on Saturday.

Metalsmithing is finishing up their cuff project using the fold-forming technique.

Photography students are currently working on the Composition Guidelines; Texture and Patterns.

Independent study students are passionately painting.

Thanks to the band for supporting the school at the Homecoming Assembly!

The Spanish Club has been recognized by the organization "The Pulsera Project" for their efforts in fundraising money towards their program during the month of May 2023. Members of the club sold handmade bracelets (pulseras) created by artisans from Nicaragua and Guatemala. All the funds raised were sent to the organization, and the money will be used to provide groceries, school supplies, household goods, a steady income and more to the artisans community. The Spanish Club will be doing the fundraising event once again this following May 2024. If you're interested in participating or helping out to raise funds, feel free to contact us.
