This year's FIELD DAY is scheduled for Friday, APRIL 29th at Blanchette Park. For those new to us our tradition is to gather for 8 am ALL SCHOOL MASS and then K-8 students "parade" to Blanchette as a school. Students in participate in a variety of activities and eat lunch at the park. Dismissal is at NOON from Blanchette. Field Day is fan favorite for many! Lenten Mass Journals have been sent home! After Mass each week from this Sunday through Easter, have your children fill in where they attended Mass and what they remember from the experience. After Easter, return completed journals to school for a reward!

Totus Tuus is a program that is brand-new to St. Charles Borromeo this year and we are very excited about it! The mission of Totus Tuus is to bring young people into a relationship with Christ and His Church for lifelong discipleship. Emphasis is placed on dynamic sharing of the faith, Sacraments and a whole lot of joyful fun! College missionaries lead the program and have a profound impact on the youth that attend. It will be held at Borromeo June 5-10th. There is a day program for rising 1st-6th graders and an evening program for rising 7-13th graders. “Primrose School of St. Charles at Heritage offers a full-time summer camp for children who have completed kindergarten through third grade. The Summer Adventure Club hours are 7a-6p Monday through Friday for the entirety of the summer. A healthy breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks are provided to all children. At Summer Adventure Club, children try a variety of hands-on activities—like sports, robotics and arts—that help build skills around literacy, creative problem solving, STEAM and more in a fun and exciting way. Saint Charles has a composite team with a program called NICA and it is a racing league for cross country mountain bike racing geared towards 6th to 12th grade students. The official website is www.missourimtb.org. We teach kids the skills to successfully ride a mountain bike and if they wish, they can race as well on a real MTB course. The season starts July 1st and goes into the first few weeks of November with races across the state. Any skill level is welcome the kids just need a helmet and a properly functioning Mountain bike. Please find a copy of our 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR pictured and attached below. We have pulled out some important dates for you to assist with any future planning. One item of note / change from previous years' calendars. Every third Wednesday is marked with an aqua blue square to indicate a 2:15 dismissal for all students. Students who cannot be picked up at this time will be able to stay and care will be provided free of charge. Any students remaining after 3:00 pm will be filtered into our BASK program and BASK rates will apply. This time will be utilized by teachers to work in Professional Learning Communities to further their growth as instructional leaders.

We will be sharing the final version of our 2022-2023 school year calendar shortly. For planning purposes please the following important dates ~

We will continue to operate our before BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL KIDS program for the upcoming school year. We will accept BASK enrollment forms for the new school year when school enrollment opens. The form for enrolling in the program is included below. All paperwork can be turned into the main office. While this information is not typically sent out until closer to the start of the new school year, we wanted to provide a complete financial picture sooner than later for those families potentially in need of this care. All families and students are welcome to register for our BASK program at any time throughout the school year. If you have a high school or college aged student who is interested in working in our BASK program we are always looking for new responsible employees as well!

Spring allergies seem to have arrived. If you have a child with allergies now would be a good time to remind them to take any necessary medications. If you have a child who will need allergy medication during the day it can be turned into the office with a signed doctor's note.

If you have received your COVID vaccine and want it to be documented in our FACTS system please send records to Nurse Quarando at nurse@borromeoschool.com. Please note this is not a requirement.

Please remember to bring water bottles to school, we continue to go through a lot of cups.

We are grateful for ALL OF OUR Cafe helpers. Our first session (11:00-12:00) is a slower pace with K-3 students and is mostly helping open items, pass out disposable silverware and condiments, help kiddos stand in line patiently for recess, and help wipe off tables. The second session (12:00-1:00) is a much faster pace yet has lots of kiddos 4-8 grade in and out of the Cafe in less than an hour. This is mostly monitoring/walking the room and helping wipe off tables. Thank you in advance and thank you to those who have helped in the past and continue to help!
