Red Hawk Flight Report
A few notes from the MHS School Counseling Department
Student Ambassadors
- Looking to get involved? Consider supporting new MHS students! We are looking for students to give tours, review the schedule, and answer questions. Please see Ms. Rodriguez or Ms. Santana in room 204 or Dr. Levesque in room 124.
Honors or Not for Rank
- Honors or Not for Rank: Students who consistently do well in their honors level courses should review these slides to determine if honors or not for rank is for them. This applies to semester 2 electives only.
Athletes
Considering athletics in college? Check out this NCAA resource or connect with your counselor at your upcoming conference!
Course Selection
- Course selection is coming up. Students will sit with their school counselors to review their goals, credits, and course recommendations. Keep an eye out for an upcoming meeting invite for your grade level conference.
- To prepare for this meeting, please review some of the following resources:
- Pathway course recommendations
- Collegeboard how to Pick an AP Course
- 24-25 Program of Studies- A few things to pay attention to:
- Ninth grade students should pay particular attention to pages 17-38 to assist in academy selection.
- Internships and extended learning: If you are looking for an experience beyond the traditional classroom, review some of the options on pages 56-59. Speak with your counselor at your upcoming conference to ensure this is added to your 24-25 schedule!
