Seckinger High School Newsletter
December 15, 2023
Announcements and Reminders
As a reminder, our offices will be closed from Monday, December 18th through Tuesday, January 2nd. We hope you and your family have a wonderful Winter Break and a very Happy Holiday Season.
Important Reminder: Chromebooks and Chromebook Chargers
Each day, Seckinger students are expected to bring their fully charged Chromebook to use during their learning activities and to complete assignments/assessments.
When students return to school on January 4, 2024, Chromebooks and Chromebook chargers will no longer be available for a student checkout for the day. If a student forgets their Chromebook or charger, they need to call their parents and have them bring these items to the attendance office, located at the back of the building.
Congratulations
STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
Congratulations to the Seckinger High School ESports Team on their outstanding achievement in WINNING THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! This is a testament to all the hard work, dedication, and skill of each player. Well done to the players - Donovan Broomes, Lucas Leichter, and Kenyon Mullings; to the coaches - Coach Brenda Clark, Coach Trey Brennan, and Coach Nicole Spearman; and to everyone who has supported our team. Let's celebrate this well-deserved victory! Go Jags!
Last Saturday, over 600 band students in our district attended the 1st round of All-State Band auditions. We had 18 students from SKG spend months preparing for this audition. Out of our 18 students, 9 students were selected for the District Honor Ensembles and 12 students scored high enough on their audition to pass to the next round of All-State Band auditions in January, at which they will compete against the top student musicians in the state for a seat in the 2024 Georgia All-State Band. This is over double our numbers from last year! If you know any of these students, please congratulate them for their achievement! We are incredibly proud of all 18 students who took the audition and represented our school so well!
