What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
We can't believe that it is already May 1st. We are excited to share our Kids Heart Video - Take 2! We still have a lot of submissions so continue to be on the lookout if you submitted a video or picture. If you didn't submit one you can still email me at edavis@sd25.org should your child want to be included in an upcoming video. Please put Heart Video in the subject line.
Also, on Sunday evening our landing page will include our OMS Weekly Challenge and information to join us for One Book One Community! We are excited to read together "A Boy Called Bat" by Elana Arnold!
If you haven't checked out FlipGrid yet, please log in! We have seen some amazing submissions for our weekly challenges and the ABC countdown. The password for both FlipGrids is OliveOwls2020.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Erin, Julia, & OMS Staff
Virtual Hoot Drawing
This week Mrs. Pemberton and Ms. Davis enjoyed a virtual Hoot lunch with students. After we finished eating we played Hangman and Trivia.
Watch for our next Hoot Drawing video on May 15th! Remember ALL students have been working hard on Remote Learning and will be entered into our final drawing of the 19-20 school year.
WTTW - Stay Home. Hit Play.
WTTW Announces New Educational Series: Stay Home. Hit Play.
In an effort to provide you with positive, non-legal coronavirus disease (COVID-19) news, we are delighted to share with you a new series launching on WTTW titled Stay Home. Hit Play. WTTW is partnering with Mayor Lori Lightfoot to provide programming that will open the doors to the city’s museums and cultural institutions to students and families staying at home across the city, offering “virtual field trips” behind the scenes. In the first episode, Mayor Lightfoot heads to the Shedd Aquarium to visit the penguins, feed the sharks, and say hello to “Nickel,” the rescued sea turtle. WTTW will air the series twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays, with the first episode on Friday, May 1 at 5:30 pm on WTTW (11.1) and on Monday, May 4 at 12:30 pm on WTTW Prime (11.2). WTTW will also stream all episodes on wttw.com/watch. Franczek P.C. has the privilege of representing the City of Chicago and WTTW. It is our hope that this series provides a little joy in this otherwise uncertain and difficult time.
