Attendance Goal
Attendance matters and we need your help ending this year strong. A few absences every month can add up to weeks of lost learning. Missing school, whether for excused or unexcused reasons, disrupts a student’s education.

Attendance Update
Attendance matters every day! At ANCCS, we want our students to share what they have by being present every day. When students are late or absent from school, it impacts their learning and also means they are missing out on the important relationships, community building, and social emotional development that takes place at school.
With fewer than 35 days left of school, please support your student in setting a goal to attend every day! Please contact the office if you have any planned absences or want support in navigating an attendance challenge.
90% Attendance
Our attendance is growing! The number of students with 90% attendance rose during the month of March from 59.92% to 63.22%! Quyana to all of our families for supporting student attendance and success! Let's keep it up.
* Nurse Corner *
Happy Spring! Snow will be melting soon. Nurse could really use some boys pants if you have some your kids have outgrown, would love the donations. Sweat pants or wind pants are best as they fit lots of kids. When the snow melts, nurse generally gets a lot of wet kids after recess. Boots are still important and snow pants for keeping kids dry even when it's warmer. A spare set of clothes for smaller kids is also a great idea to keep in their back packs.
Alaska Safe Children's Act Information
All classes will be receiving age-appropriate lessons on child sexual abuse and assault prevention education as required under the state’s Alaska Safe Children’s Act (Erin’s Law).
Erin’s Law Education is comprised of quarterly grade level lessons that will be taught during the Health classes by the health teacher. Combined, these lessons meet the full requirements for student training under the Alaska Safe Children’s Act, and are designed to help prevent childhood sexual abuse. These lessons will be presented in a non-threatening way, along with the skills needed for self-protection and will be handled in a sensitive, respectful manner.
If you have any questions about the content of the program please take a look at the website, Alaska Safe Children’s Act (Erin’s Law) or if you wish to inquire about opting out, please contact our office. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to provide learning opportunities to improve the safety and wellbeing of our students.
