Queen of Apostles School
Term 2 Week 5 - Thursday 25 May 2023
PRAYER FOR CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES
Lord,
You send out Your Spirit to touch the hearts of all people, so that they may believe in You and in Jesus whom You sent.
Look kindly on all candidates for Confirmation as they listen to Your voice.
Open their hearts to Your Spirit and bring to fulfilment the good work that You have begun in them.
As we prepare these children for Confirmation, make each of us an instrument of Your love.
Teach us to appreciate what is holy in others, and to be patient with what we do not understand.
Deepen our faith in the Gospel and help us to pass it on by our example.
We pray that You will continue to guide us and sustain us.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Uniform
As a staff we have noticed that there have been some students not wearing the correct uniform or have been wearing the uniform incorrectly. Our uniform gives the students a sense of belonging and enhances pride in their school.
The SRC will be checking uniforms in all classes and correction notices will be handed out to those students not in the correct uniform.
The correct winter uniform consists of the following:
The uniform shop is open from 1.30 to 3.30pm on Wednesday afternoons during term time if you require any items.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated in helping to build a strong school culture where our sense of identity is celebrated.
Confirmation
Confirmation will take place this Sunday 28th May at a special 10.30am Mass in the church. Confirmation is one of the Initiation Sacraments of the Catholic Church and helps the candidates to be united more firmly with Christ.
Please keep our Year 6 candidates in your prayers during this time.
Queen of Apostles Feast Day
Next Friday, 2 June, we will celebrate the feast of Queen of Apostles.
As a staff we have worked out a plan for the day deciding on some fantastic activities for the students. The day will start with Mass at 9am and all community members are invited to attend. This will be followed by activities which relate to Mary and our links with the Pallottine and Schoenstatt orders. I’m looking forward to a day with lots of learning and fun.
Interschool Cross Country
I wish the Interschool Cross Country runners all the best as they compete against 5 other schools in our region at Tompkins Park tomorrow morning.
Parents and family members are invited to attend and cheer on our Interschool Team.

Congratulations to the Year 5 Enrichment students who participated in the Da Vinci Decathlon held at UWA on 8th May.
The students competed against 25 schools in intensive challenges ranging from engineering, maths and technology, through to art, poetry and drama. Our school placed 9th overall and the students placed 2nd in the Engineering Challenge which is amazing considering many of the schools we were competing against were large, independent schools.
Congratulations to Nicholas, Martina, Samantha, Riyoni, Senul, Felicia, Patrick ,and Elianna. Amazing effort!
