What's happening at Stone Hill Middle School? October 15
Dear Stone Hill Families,
Future Phoenix Night at Rock Ridge High School on Friday, October 13 was so much fun and our Chorus and Band students did an outstanding job with the performances. We have many exciting things happening this week and we will kickoff our first day of spirit week tomorrow with cozy/comfy day. Unity Day is on Wednesday, October 18 as well as Bus Drive Appreciation Day and we are looking forward to celebrating them for all they do keep our children safe. We will wrap up the week with our Fall Outdoor Movie Night for all our students on October 20, 2023. This is a PTO sponsored event and we are hoping for a strong turnout. Please see the flyer attached.
Club rosters have been finalized. All students who were selected by the lottery for a club will receive an email from the club sponsor by the end of the day on Monday 10/16. Those who were not selected have been added to a fall waitlist and will also have 1st priority for spring clubs. Wait listed students will only receive an email if a spot opens up. We had a record number of students request fall clubs, unfortunately we were not able to accommodate all who applied.
***Please only have your son or daughter stay for a club if you have received an email form the sponsor.
Our military connected group at SHMS will be making cards dedicated to thanking service members and retired service members in our community. Our hope is to complete those at the end of October and send them out for the Veteran's Day weekend.
If your family has a service member who would like a card, please fill out this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfcBB7469ifzkc1-LvQl73Ck8tbE81JZOLvIfl4Gatb5xm4bw/viewform?usp=sharing
As part of our tradition to strengthen the home/school connection, here are the Stingray Reports (organized by grade levels) for the 23-24 school year. We hope to engage you as partners in this learning and suggest that you use this information each week to help you keep aware of what is happening instructionally at Stone Hill in each grade level and to reinforce these lessons at home.

Our SHMS PTO is a critical means for actively involving parents and extending the level of participation in planning and implementing school activities that involve students and their families. This also enables collaboration with the community, and taking advantage of community resources which benefit family involvement. Over the years, our PTO has been a critical platform in enhancing our students’ learning experience. Last year, PTO sponsored the following events to include a Fall Festival, Movie Nights, School Dances, MOEMS Math Contest, 8th Grade Dance and Flight Night, PTO General Body Meetings, and teacher appreciation events. There are several events that have been planned by our PTO for this school year where there is a larger need for parent engagement and collaboration to make it successful. We sincerely request you all to join our PTO and collaborate with the board to further enhance the student learning process.
