Family Event tonight at school!
Message from Mrs. Behnke
I am so proud of our students who are settling into new routines and learning the expectations in the classrooms and the common areas. We are practicing what it Looks like, Sounds like and Feels like when we transition in the hallways, eat lunch in the cafeteria and then move to recess. These are some of the practices that are connected to our "Falcon Way". The Falcon Way is based on one rule "We can do whatever we want as long as it doesn't cause a learning or hurting problem." From this all else flows. We believe that we are a place for teaching and learning. When students are experiencing a problem we engage them in a learning opportunity to problem solve to make things better. In future newsletters, I will share out more about our Falcon Way and introduce you to all of our class teams.
Sunday, September 17, 2023 is Constitution Day. Please know that there is a federal requirement to teach this annually at the elementary grade levels and at least once in the middle and high school levels. It is preferred that there is a school-wide announcement of some sort to honor the important document. A Roseville team of teachers created slide decks and resources to include the absented narratives in the presentation of Constitution Day.
During the week of September 18th, all elementary teachers are required to include at least one lesson about Constitution Day. Secondary social studies teachers have plans for teaching the lessons as part of their curriculum alignment or during STAR at RAMS.
