ID Policy at Northridge High School
Northridge High Schools ID policy
Students are not allowed to enter the building without their ID worn visibly around their neck or clipped to their person (upper chest/shoulder area). ID’s cannot be attached to backpacks, purses, or other belongings. Students must wear their ID at all times while on campus (in classrooms, in hallways/restrooms, and during outside activities).
IF a student does NOT have their ID when they arrive at the building, the student will need to have the ID reprinted ($5 fee) in order to gain entry to classes.
→ Parents and students are encouraged to establish routines for ensuring students have their ID when they arrive at school each day.
*Students are accummulating fees for lost or forgotten IDs. Fee statements will be sent home and phone calls will be made if students have excessive fees for replacement IDs.
****Students currently open-enrolled are eligible to stay at their current school through the highest grade offered at that school and do not need to apply yearly.****

Community Connection Classes
Our Community Connections classes have been busy at work this semester.
First off, we have been working hard at continuing to grow our school garden. This garden provides fresh vegetables for school lunches that both staff and students are able to eat.
Secondly, our students were invited to help out with Santa cops this year. Their job was to short thousands of Christmas presents. They finished all the gifts within two hours. Our Grizzly students did so well that they were requested to help out again.
Our agenda also includes weekly trips to volunteer at the Weld County Food Bank. Students work hard packaging and sorting food for families in need.
Please check out the three photos below and if you see any of our students, please give them a high-five for all their hard work and dedication!
Thank you for supporting Key Club and participating in our costume contest on Monday! Congratulations to the winners.
A little Halloween fun:
After school academic support is now available!
District 6 is pleased to welcome volunteers back into our buildings.
Free Breakfast and Lunch for District 6 Students this School Year
All students in Greeley-Evans School District 6, including students attending charter schools, can access free breakfast and lunch this school year as a result of the District 6 Board of Education’s unanimous vote on Monday, August 8, to fund school meals for the 2022-2023 school year for all students who do not otherwise qualify.
In order to eat for free, parents must complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application, regardless of the family’s income level. The application is available online at https://www.d6schoolfood.org/school-meal-benefits. If you haven’t already, please fill out this application today!
For more than two years, schools nationally have been providing free meals to all students, regardless of income status, as part of the COVID-19 response. However, federal funding for universal free meals ended at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year. The District 6 Board voted to allocate up to $2 million from reserves to pay for the universal meal program this school year. The remaining $10 million to fund the student meal program is covered by federal reimbursements through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The Board of Education voted to use money from the district’s reserves to extend free meals service for all students in anticipation that next year, the District will qualify for the Community Eligibility Provision, which will designate the district as a low-income area and allow free meals to again be provided under the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Districts qualify for Community Eligibility Provision when they reach 40 percent of their students qualifying as low income by utilizing Medicaid services and/or qualifying for state or federal food assistance, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Because the Medicaid qualification is just being added next year, it is anticipated District 6 will easily qualify for the federal Community Eligibility Provision for the 2023-2024 school year.
Under the COVID-19 free meal program, more students accessed school meals than ever before. For the first time, District 6 served over 3 million meals last year, realizing a 20 percent increase in students eating breakfast and a 40 percent increase in students eating
