Xavier Legette Displays Act of Kindness
Xavier Legette, a graduate from Mullins High School in 2019, has demonstrated the true meaning of generosity by donating brand new basketball shoes to the Mullins High School Varsity basketball team. We express our gratitude to Xavier for his kindness and for continuously making a positive impact in our community. MCSD is incredibly proud of Xavier, and we eagerly anticipate his future accomplishments!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Our talented students participated in the MLK Celebration Program at The Door of Hope Christian Church. We couldn't be prouder of their performances and representation of our school district. Through events like these, we continue to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., promote unity, and equality in our community.
Congratulations to Ivan Morley!
Marion High School’s Ivan Morley has been awarded the third chair trumpet in the South Carolina Eastern District Honors Band and the sixteenth chair trumpet for the South Carolina Region Honors Band. The MCSD Board of Education is proud of Ivan’s achievement!

Best Coach/Mentor Award
The MCSD Board of Education acknowledged Kim Edwards for her outstanding achievement in winning the Best Coach/Mentor award at the Columbia Qualifier Tournament for the First Lego League Challenge. We extend our sincere congratulations to Ms. Edwards for her remarkable accomplishment and for setting an example of excellence in the field of coaching.
Marion High School Varsity Football - Region Champs!
The Marion High School varsity football team was honored by the MCSD Board of Education for their outstanding achievements. With a record of 10-2 and winning all of their regional games, the team has much to be proud of. Congratulations!
A Morning in Montessori
Dr. Bethea hosted "A Morning in Montessori" event at North Mullins Primary School for the benefit of local clergy. The event served to provide attendees with an overview of the Montessori program, which was presented by Ms. Fogan, the school's principal. In addition, a Montessori student presented a testimonial on his positive experience with the program. The visiting clergy were also granted the opportunity to tour the classrooms and witness the program in action.
Parenting and Community Engagement
MCSD's Parent and Community Engagement Department hosted a Round Table Drop-In event for parents. Thank you to the community partners in Marion County for providing informational resources to our parents.
100th Day of School
Many of our primary and elementary schools had lots of fun celebrating the 100th day of school!
Marion County School of Nursing
Marion County School of Practical Nursing Program achieved a 100% passing rate on the National Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN). We thank instructors Misty Owens, Tracy Oakley, and Alicia Whittington for presenting the program's curriculum at the Marion/Mullins Rotary Club. The presentation highlighted the hands-on training and practical skills that students receive. The program's impact on the healthcare industry and the community is significant. We commend the instructors for sharing their expertise.
Johnakin Middle School's Beta Club Brings Home Awards
JMS BETA Club members and their sponsors have won seven awards at the Junior Beta Club State Convention and qualified for Nationals. The scholars placed first in Digitally Enhanced Photography, Jewelry, and 7th grade Science, second in Woodworking and 8th grade Science, fourth in Performing Arts Large Group, and fifth in Service-Learning Showcase. Congratulations to the members and their sponsors on their exceptional achievements!
Aramark
During the course of this month, Aramark has provided catering services to various events conducted throughout the district. Among the services rendered, the high schools were offered an omelet bar while primary/elementary schools were privileged to a parfait tasting. Aramark's culinary expertise was on full display as they catered the events with the utmost professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction.
