Parent/Teacher Confernces
Parent-Teacher Conferences at Edmond Santa Fe HS will take place on Monday and Tuesday, October 16th and 17th, from 4:30-8:00 pm each night. The conferences will take place in the Main Cafeteria and Freshman Cafeteria at Santa Fe. There is no need to schedule an appointment. Our conferences are designed for flexibility so that you can find your student's teachers at designated tables and have 10 minute conversations about your student. If one teacher has a line, you can visit a different teacher and then circle back to the first teacher later. This flexible setup for conferences allows for parents to visit as many teachers as needed. Also, if you can't come one night, then you can come on the other. We are looking forward to seeing you there. A separate email with specific directions about where teachers are assigned to be (which cafeteria) will be sent out on Friday, October 13th.
Fall Break 2023
Fall Break will be on Thursday and Friday, October 19th and 20th. Also, there is a Teacher Professional Day on Monday, October 23rd, so students will actually be off from October 19-23.
Saturday School
On Saturday, October 28th, we will have Saturday School from 9:00-11:00 am for students who are struggling in their classes. This opportunity will allow these students to complete missing and make-up assignments for full credit. Students will be given an opportunity to work during those two hours (with drinks, snacks, and tutoring help provided) on missing or make-up assignments. Work not completed during the two hours can be finished over the rest of the weekend at home. All work assigned for Saturday School must be turned in to the teachers on Monday, October 30th in order to receive full credit. Last year, over 200 students came off the F list in one or more classes because of Saturday School. More specific information will be sent home about Saturday School before Fall Break.
Tardies/Absences
Tardies and Unverified Absences are two areas where we are striving to make improvements with our students. It is important for students to understand that the five minute passing period does not allow time to stop in the hallways and visit with friends. Students should keep moving to their next classes unless there is a reason for a detour (restroom, office, media center). With absences, parents please help us by verifying why your student is absent to our attendance office. Medical, Illness, Family Emergency, Judicial, and Religious absences need to be documented for our required record-keeping for the State Department of Education. Our goal is to limit unverified absences that have no documentation as to the reason for absence.
