This is a reminder that all Fulton County Schools and Offices will be closed for Winter Break Monday, December 21st - Friday, January 1st.

Our return-to-school plan for second semester includes a two-week transition that begins remotely for staff/students and ends with in-school learning.

• Week of January 4-8:
• Second semester begins for students on Wednesday, January 6.
• Tuesday, Jan. 5, was added to Monday, Jan 4, as a teacher workday/student holiday because many schools are election polling sites.
• All PreK-12 students will participate in remote learning January 6 - 8.

• Week of January 11-15:
• Middle and high school students will participate in remote learning on Jan. 11 and Jan. 12, while elementary students return to school for Face-to-Face instruction, if they chose the in-person learning model for second semester.
• On Jan. 13, PreK-12 students (except those who chose remote learning) will come back for Face-to-Face instruction.

During the break, we hope you have an opportunity to have lots of family time and an opportunity to get some rest. Hopefully, your non-immediate family visits will be limited this year as the number of COVI-19 cases continues to increase. However, in the event that your scholar comes into contact with someone that is COVID positive or contracts COVID, please be sure to continue to utilize the district reporting protocol during the winter break. Please see the protocol below. We appreciate you and your diligence in keeping our scholars safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.

Fulton County Schools hopes you have a restful and joyous Winter Break. During this break, we are asking that you continue to report (1) a positive COVID-19 result (2) a direct-contact with the positive COVID-19 individual or (3) a pending COVID-19 test result to the Parent Report Portal https://www.fultonschools.org/ReportCOVID. Still, to manage expectations regarding COVID-19 reporting during said break, please be patient while you await a response, it may be a few days given that the FCBOH/FCS Health Services Team will be on holiday break as well. All reports will be responded to before the Face-to-Face return for students on Wednesday, January 13th.

We will kick off our iReady Winter Diagnostic testing on January 6, 2021. Parents, we need your support with ensuring that your scholar does his or her very best and completes this assessment during the allotted time.

We have a participation rate goal of 95% that we must meet so it is important that all assessments are completed by January 15, 2021.

The RMS Instrument Distribution for our 6th-8th Band and Orchestra scholars, who are participating in Remote Learning instruction, is fast approaching. Our Band and Orchestra scholars, who are participating in Face to Face instruction will receive their instruments, during their Connections classes, upon their return to RMS on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

What: RMS Instrument Distribution for Remote Learning Scholars only. Face-to-Face Scholars will receive their instruments during their Connections classes, beginning on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

When: At 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, Monday, January 11, 2021 and Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

Where: School Bus Ramp (outside of the Cafeteria)
