Happy Monday Nixon Families,
Our first three days of school were a bit different this year, but our excitement for the new school year was the same! We had a fantastic start to the year and hope your children came home excited about being back at school.
- School Drop Off Time: Just a friendly reminder that learners should NOT be at school prior to 8:30 am. We do not have supervision and we had many unattended children this first few days of school. If your child walks, please don't have them start walking until right before school starts. Children are considered on time between 8:30-8:50 am.
- Champions Daycare: If you need childcare for your children before school, after school, or on Friday early release days, please reach out and we can connect you with our Site Director, Matt. Champions hours are 6:30-8:40 am and dismissal until 6:00pm. Pricing is listed below.
- Attendance Information: If your child is going to be gone from school, please call our health office and let them know (319) 558-2190. If you forget to call in, you have 2 days to let us know before your child is considered unexcused. We count unexcused hours, which can lead to attendance contracts and meetings, so please be sure to call in if your child is not going to be at school (or is going to be late coming in).
- Breakfast and Lunch at No Cost (PLUS free snacks!): This year we will continue to offer breakfast and lunch at no cost to all Nixon families. In addition, we have qualified for the Fresh Fruits and Veggies grant again, which allows for all of our children to receive a free healthy snack Monday-Thursday at Nixon. If you have any questions, please reach out to our office for more information.
We are eager for our first full week back! Please be sure your children are getting enough sleep so they are ready to learn--we're jumping into school mode this week, and we know that takes a lot of energy!
