Trimester 2 Review
Letter From the Principal
Dear Initial Point Families,
“In like a Lion, Out like a Lamb.” This saying speaks to the weather of March. In Idaho, this couldn’t be more true. When seemingly we’re ready to transition to spring, the snow reminds us that it’s still winter for a few weeks at least. Our IPHS culture is more along the lines of “In like a Lion, Out like a Lion” as we graduated 12 seniors at the end of 2nd trimester. Congratulations to all of you! Let’s reflect on the 2nd trimester as we also look forward to Trimester 3:
Highlights:
Thanksgiving Feast (donations from Ridley’s & Albertson’s and many generous families). Special thanks to Becca, Phil, and Terri for prepping all of the food.
Christmas gifts from E3 for all students
Micron fieldtrip: Engineering and Trades
Career Fair: Represented by 20-25 vendors
Implementation of “Soft Close” helping to manage work loads
Pizza from E3 to support us during finals
Lowlight:
Passing of beloved 2022 IPHS grad Cole Winchester. #Legend
As we move into spring and dig into 3rd trimester, consider this, “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” All the best to Initial Point and the IPHS community.
Mr. Souza

Career/Counseling Center News
Senior News:
The spring is an exciting time for seniors and it’s also a time known for senioritis. Please monitor their attendance and grades to help them reach the finish line. It is also the time that reality sets in as they consider what is next after high school. If they don’t currently have a plan, please have them reach out for help.
Seniors planning to attend college or a trade school should have already applied and completed their FAFSA. If any help is needed on these steps they should reach out ASAP. Students attending CWI or college in the fall will need to request a final transcript at the end of the school year to be submitted to the college they are attending. This is a requirement to register for courses in the fall.
Important Resource Available:
BPA health has a new great resource available for free to support students and families in times of need. They will provide 5 free counseling sessions. These can be available virtually, text, phone or in person. This resource provides 5 free sessions for each family member in the home. If someone will benefit from continued counseling support they will then help connect you to a long term counseling provider.
Upcoming Events:
CWI Field Trip: March 23rd I will be taking a group of students to CWI to explore their campus and learn more about their CTE programs. This a great opportunity for seniors planning to attend in the fall to get familiar with the campus or interested students who want to learn more about CWI opportunities.
