The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings are designed to keep parents informed about high school program changes, program additions, goals, issues that arise, etc. These meetings are also important as they offer parents an opportunity to provide input into decisions that are made at the high school which impact their children.
Warrior Stadium Updates
Hello Warrior Fans!
This is an informational notice for our Waunakee students, staff, families, and the community. Beginning in May of this year, we began a renovation project to the track at Warrior Stadium, including installation of new bleachers and a paved path to the visitor bleachers. The project remains on target. All of our regularly scheduled events at Warrior Stadium were held this summer and will happen this coming fall season.
Please note there are a few temporary changes during the construction phase of this project:
Home and visiting fans are asked to enter the main gate of the stadium at Junior Varsity (JV), Junior Varsity 2 (JV2), and Middle School (MS) games. A second ticket entrance will be open for Varsity level games located behind the scoreboard on the east end of the stadium.
Please follow all posted signs and remain outside of barricaded areas at Warrior Stadium.
On the home bleacher side, there will not be a handicapped access option at the beginning of the season in the stadium bleachers. There will be a temporary option for home fans on the visitors side, as well as handicapped accessible options at ground level near the main entrance of the stadium.
To provide additional permanent seating, a large section of new bleachers is scheduled to be installed by late September.
For the JV 2 scrimmage only, there is no stair access on the west side of the home bleachers. Because of this, part of the home bleachers are roped off due to capacity requirements. Please do not sit in this area or remove the barriers.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and cooperation as we complete this project.
Go Warriors!
Sincerely,
Nick Conrad, Athletic Director
Waunakee Community School District
Student Expectations at a Warriors Athletic Events
What a student CAN DO while attending a Waunakee Warriors Athletic Event:
- DO realize that attending a school sporting event is a privilege not a right.
- DO plan to stay for the entire game. Once you leave, you may not re-enter the game.
- DO sit with either a parent or in your designated area. At Football Games: 5-6 east-end of the football field by the videoboard, 7-8 west-end of the field near the small concession stand, 9-12 east-end of the home bleachers. K-4 students must sit with their parents/guardians.
- DO leave athletic equipment, backpacks, larger radios, and other non-essential items at home or stored in vehicles. Medical backpacks will be permitted.
- DO stay in the bleachers during the game.
- DO walk to the concession stands and restrooms. Loitering and running in the stadiums is not acceptable.
- DO refrain from throwing anything, anywhere, anytime during the game.
- DO enjoy being with your friends at this community event.
- DO support both teams with positive cheers.
- DO act with Warriors Pride and take responsibility for your actions.
What happens if a student DOES NOT follow these guidelines:
- The student will be removed from the event and an attempt will be made to contact the parents/guardians.
- The student’s building principal will be contacted the following school day.
- The student may lose the privilege of attending future events.
