Webster Weekly
DANIEL WEBSTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - PASADENA, CA
Week of January 14, 2024
Principal's Message
Good evening, Webster families.
As expected, our Hoop it Up assembly was fantastic. We thank our amazing PTA for bringing it back to Webster again this year.
I would like to congratulate the Webster LEARNs Basketball team. They are currently in 1st place!
Please send students to school in their school uniform daily. This truly sets the tone of one scholarly community of students who are ready to learn. This is especially important on field trip days to represent our school to the community and for student safety. On Fridays, students may wear their Webster spirit shirts. The last Friday of the month, is a free dress day.
Our Lost & Found is overflowing with thousands of dollars worth of jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles etc. Please come to the lost and found to claim any lost items.
Our week begins with the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On this day, we honor the life, legacy and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King. He continues to be an example of peace for us all.
MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. During the last quarter-century, the MLK Day of Service has grown, and its impact increased as more Americans embraced the idea that citizenship involves taking an active role in improving communities.
There is no school on Monday, January 15, MLK Jr. Day.
On Tuesday, Ms. Froeschle's class will be taking a field trip to the Pasadena Museum of History.
The Webster SSC will meet on Tuesday evening at 5:30pm.
This Wednesday, Mr. Stubbs and Ms. Barajas's 1st graders will go on a field trip to the Huntington Library and Gardens.
Please join us for our virtual PTA meeting on Wednesday at 6:30pm. The link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89949969345?pwd=UWg3ZkVETXFpdEZ5Z0tvc1JXcDM0QT09
On Thursday, at 8:30am, we will be giving a school tour of Webster. Please share this information out with family and friends.

Mrs. Forrest

Tax Deductible Giving through Webster's Annual Fund
Daniel Webster Elementary School has been honored as a California Distinguished School. Great teachers, strong leadership, and parent involvement make Daniel Webster a great school to send our children.
In addition to the great education our students receive, they are also provided with various opportunities to participate in our music and arts activities. We're asking for your support to continue this legacy by donating to the Daniel Webster Annual Fund and help us reach our goal of $50,000.
These funds will be used to financially support our music and arts programs, to update our playground activities, and to support the instructional goals set forth by the School Site Council
We would like to see every family donate at least $1.00 per week ($50 for the school year) for each child they have enrolled at Daniel Webster.
Think of it as donating less than the cost of a weekly cup of coffee or soft drink to help ensure that your child receives a high quality education.
If you can donate more, we would encourage you to donate towards our Giving Tree. We have various levels of donations:
Bronze - $100
Silver - $200
Gold - $300
VIP - $500 or more
If you are not able to contribute financially please consider donating your time and talents.

It is necessary that the school has accurate contact information, including a working email and phone numbers. You can update all important contact information on the parent portal. Aeries Parent Portal is a wonderful resource that all parents need to sign up for in order to access student attendance, grades, and teacher information to name a few. If you do not yet have an Aeries Parent Portal account, you will need to complete the attached form. Once Mrs. Rojas, our office manager, receives the form, she will send you an access code. Once you have your code, you can go to https://www.pusd.us/Page/6203 and follow the instructions to create an account.
