Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration & Screening Dates
Please spread the word to families and friends to register for Pre-K or Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year today!
- Pre-Kindergarten: We are excited to announce that we are planning for four in-district, full-day pre-kindergarten classrooms for the 2023-2024 school year. Our partnerships with recently released grant funding will make this significant improvement possible. This change will replace our current program, which includes four half-day classes. The deadline for open Pre-Kindergarten registration is Friday, April 21. For more information about the Pre-K program, how to register, and screening dates, please click here.
- Kindergarten: There is no deadline for enrolling in Kindergarten, but we encourage families to enroll their students by Friday, April 21, in order to participate in the Kindergarten screening days. For more information on how to register for Kindergarten and screening dates, please click here.

Music In Our Schools Month
As part of Music in Our Schools Month, the RCS Music Department hosted some performances to recognize our talented students and staff and all their hard work. The month of March is Music In Our Schools Month and is used to celebrate and bring awareness to the educational importance of music programs for our youth. Congratulations to all of our students and devoted staff who make RCS a musically talented school!
14th Empire State Art Show Celebrating Youth Art Month
Six 5th grade students from AWB were honored with artwork on display at the 14th annual Empire State Plaza Youth Art Exhibition this month from March 6-24, 2023! This is a special art show that is open to students in grades K-8, and presents student artwork which has been inspired by a piece from the Empire State Plaza art collection.
We are proud of the following students who had artwork on display:
Westin Mahon, Madeleine Summers, Claudia Button, Amina Ali, Alyssa Krantz and Mikayla Pagan.
Their projects were inspired by Colleoni II by Jason Seley. Each student chose their own subject, which was sculpted in relief, 'chromed' using aluminum foil, and painted using tempera and watercolor.
AWB Student Making a Difference
Have you noticed that our AWB Bear has something new? Livia Kindlon noticed that the apple in the AWB Welcome Bear’s hand had seen better days. The bear has received much love over the years, and with that love comes normal wear and tear, specifically to the apple that was in its paw. This gave Livia an idea!
Livia approached Mrs. Neubart with her idea, worked with Art Teacher Ms. Clare Esmond to bring to life a new item for the bear to hold as an update to the beloved bear. Livia had the perfect idea for school. With guidance from Ms. Esmond, she used acrylic paint to bring to life a calculator for the bear's hand! She selected the colors gold and green as she wanted to display our school colors.
Livia took this initiative all on her own. She identified a problem, considered her options, and worked with others toward a solution. It is amazing to watch our students come into their own, take initiative and work towards creating a welcoming environment for all.
It is never too early for our AWB students to take action and make our world a better place!!
