COCKY WENT ON A MATH MISSION!
Early Childhood Block did an excellent job designing engaging math activities for first grade students at Saks Elementary. This was a community service project and all math activities and children’s literature were given to the classroom teachers. Our favorite part of the day was the scavenger hunt to locate all of the hidden MATH messages! Cocky and the students solved the hidden message, “Math is Fun!”
Thank you to the awesome teachers at Saks Elementary for welcoming our preservice teachers. We had the best day!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT - CEPS DEAN'S OFFICE GRADUATE ASSISTANT - MS. KIMBERLY McPHEARSON
I chose JSU because it felt like the place I needed to be. After COVID, I was so lost in what my purpose was and where God was leading me next in my journey. In 2021, I decided to come to JSU to continue my career on the Women’s Soccer team. As time has gone by many doors have opened for me such as being an ambassador for Morgan’s Message, advocating for student- athlete mental health awareness on campus, becoming President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and lastly receiving the opportunity of becoming a Graduate Assistant for the College of Education Professional Studies. I have met and made many great connections here at JSU.
As I drawer nearer to my future, it has always been a dream of mine to start an esthetician business and expand my knowledge to possibly seek a career in real estate. I want to give back, I want to use my story to inspire others, I want the future generation to thrive to reach their full potential. As I remind myself every day, nothing in life worth having comes easy. I can’t wait to see what is next in my future.
