Everyone involved is deeply disappointed that plans for GaETC did not pan out for our Vanguard Team. We know that there was a great deal of excitement leading up to the conference, but especially for those presenting.

We know that many of our Vanguard members worked hard preparing to "Extend the Reach" of Vanguard and we would like to be sure and acknowledge that by allowing for an additional opportunity to present.

We would love to have GaETC presenters share their presentations at our Vanguard PD Day on January 5th at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. Those presenters will earn the 20 points they missed by not presenting at GaETC.

We have confirmed that the Vanguard member with the most points by the final deadline will earn a FREE trip to ISTE 2018 in Chicago!!

We are also working on the possibility of sending MORE Vanguard members to ISTE! Keep earning those activity points to stay in the running for a FREE trip. You'll get to join Briana Harrison who won a trip at our Vanguard Kick-Off!

If you have a concern about missing points, missing links to get points, etc., please do not email about this. We need all requests to be in one place so that we're able to ensure that everything gets addressed.

As the end of first semester approaches, we are all taking more and more pictures. Students are creating more worth documenting. Come to Apple Avalon to to learn more on organizing & editing photos on your iPad. ... Might even learn a thing or two for your own family photos!

At Apple Avalon's Teacher Tuesday teachers learned about Clips. Clips is a great way to quickly share information. Here is a great info graphic to started with CLIPS.

The challenge is simple... create a #onestoryforward Clip focusing on Vanguard.
Guidelines:

• Start the video with the logo.
• Create your Clip by following the story spine below.
• Videos should be brief - no longer than 90 seconds.
• Videos should end with a question that provokes thinking related to the FCS Vanguard Mission.

In the spring, Vanguard member, Allison Kerley, was selected as Fulton County's Teacher of the Year. Tomorrow she'll be honored at Fulton's Legacy of Excellence Awards. Take a look at more information about Allison and the reason she was the perfect choice for this honor!

New Member Need 2 Know UPDATE:

• Due to the budget freeze, we are unable to order new member iPads at this time. However, we are preparing loaner iPads for all new members. They are still being reset and prepped for distribution. Justin Evans will communicate more with you soon.
• The New Member meeting was cancelled for GaETC due to attendance changes. This will be reworked and communicated as well.
• Make sure you are checking Microsoft TEAMS New Member channel regularly.

As a leadership team, we are working to implement a new on-boarding process. To provide a solid foundation in instructional coaching and Vanguard policies and procedures. New Members will spend the remaining time of this semester working through the course.

New members will earn Vanguard Perks after successful completion of the on boarding course. Successful completion is earning 25 points through the new member course by Dec 21, 2017. These perks include but not limited to a Vanguard iPad Pro with data Plan.

New Member Need to Know:

• Check out the New Member Channel on TEAMS! - this is your go to location for new member information.
• New Member Course through iTunesU- COMING SOON - an iOS devices is required to complete the course. If you don't have an iPad (or iPhone) complete this form.
  
• New Member Induction - Jan. 5, 2018 at the Vanguard PD Day.
• New Members are still welcome to earn activity points.
