Dear Parents,

With the holiday season quickly approaching, the season of giving is here as well. Camp Avenue School is participating in the Kiwanis Holiday Toy Drive, and our Student Council is also donating all of the pajamas that were generously donated during the Pajama Drive to a very worthwhile organization on Long Island. Camp Avenue will also be collecting canned/boxed food for Long Island Cares as many in our communities are in need of food for the holidays.

Our report cards, for grades K-6, will be able to be viewed on the Parent Portal on December 7th at 3:00 PM. If you have trouble viewing them, please contact the main office and we will be able to help you.

On December 15th, students will experience their first "Enrichment Four All" lesson this year. Teachers are teaching lessons outside the curriculum that they are passionate about. Students will have the opportunity to take these lessons with either their teacher or a different teacher depending on their personal course selection.

There will not be a PTA meeting in the month of December. Our next PTA meeting will be on January 24th. We hope you can attend.

Parents and guardians are asked to contact the school to report each absence. This can be done by calling our Absentee Line at 516-379-3733. If you are requesting classwork and/or homework for your child on the day of the absence, please leave that message with the nurse or on the absence line. Parents are requested to submit a written and signed excuse note for each absence your child has, when they return to school.
